The minimum req for vista is a gig so whatev.

Vista still sucks anyways, I'm going to have to upgrade soon because games are going to start running Vista only soon.
That made me think about what the reqs for Starcraft 2 are gonna be :(

Stupid DX10
Isn't it usually like 80 (US) a stick or something (RAM, that is)? I know it's not horribly expensive.
Its like $100 per GB stick last I purchased

Tyler 10-23-2007 09:00 PM
That made me think about what the reqs for Starcraft 2 are gonna be
I doubt it'll be intense, they wouldnt alienate so many people. Crysis on the other hand...hah!

Anglachel 10-23-2007 09:01 PM

Well if SC2 works for DX9 then I'll be fine without upgrading to Vista (lol are we sure its an upgrade?)

gmoneyguy 10-23-2007 09:03 PM

Vista is fine once you disable User Account controls.

Tyler 10-23-2007 09:04 PM

I need to the new Mac OSX that just came out. ****in elite ****.

Darkness 10-23-2007 09:04 PM

I'm looking to buy a new desktop computer... any advice? This ones served me well, but it's just out dated now.

gmoneyguy 10-23-2007 09:06 PM

I would customize one, if you have the money.

Anglachel 10-23-2007 09:06 PM

lol mac

Tyler 10-23-2007 09:06 PM
lol mac
lol much better computers than pcs.

I use both, mind you, but the mac is so much better it's funny.

Jom 10-23-2007 09:06 PM

By no means am I a good reviewer, or even an average reviewer, but it's blatantly obvious that Shadows' reviews are thesaurus-driven.

gmoneyguy 10-23-2007 09:06 PM

I hear the Macs are really user friendly, and are quite good for music and photography.

Iluvatar 10-23-2007 09:07 PM

Starcraft 2 will work with XP/DX 9, just some of the cooler visual effects will be eliminated.

I assume it will require a gig of ram though, probably not that bad of a graphics card or proc comparitively though.
I hear the Macs are really user friendly, and are quite good for music and photography.
They are. They're ace for everything but gaming and programming partially functional PC programs.

I'm a bad reviewer and I think the same.

How much we talking?

Tyler 10-23-2007 09:09 PM
How much we talking?
Customizing is way cheaper than buying one pre-built.

You can build your own for almost half the price of buying a pre-built one with the same specs.

gmoneyguy 10-23-2007 09:10 PM

I need to get notebook for school when I transfer. I'm thinking maybe a Macbook, but I dunno how compatible AutoCAD is with it.

How do I go about doing this?

Deth 10-23-2007 09:11 PM

I don't think AutoCAD is Mac compatible, but I'm not sure on that. All I know is that every computer in the engineering building runs Windows.

Eliminator 10-23-2007 09:12 PM

whats with all this calculator talk i dun like this

gmoneyguy 10-23-2007 09:13 PM

Most schools runs windows to begin with, but if thats true, then I won't be getting a Macbook.

Invicta_Veritas 10-23-2007 09:14 PM
Most schools runs windows to begin with, but if thats true, then I won't be getting a Macbook.
I have exactly the opposite experience. Most schools wherever I have been run Macs.
Most schools runs windows to begin with, but if thats true, then I won't be getting a Macbook.
Macbooks are great, it's what I use. Bootcamp and Parralels mean you can still boot them up in XP (maybe Vista too?) if you so choose.
Most schools wherever I have been run Macs.
Cause you're in the music industry. They use macs because well macs are better.

gmoneyguy 10-23-2007 09:16 PM

hmmm, its a good thing I have until this summer to do some research.

Even still, you can drop an extra 100 or 200 bucks and get someone capable to build one and you'll still save a lot.

gmoneyguy 10-23-2007 09:21 PM

I know this a n00b question but where do my screen shots save to?

Iluvatar 10-23-2007 09:22 PM
Even still, you can drop an extra 100 or 200 bucks and get someone capable to build one and you'll still save a lot.
Well I mean building it yourself is still really easy, as long as you know what kind of wiring to use for it all.

I bet they have an extensive and great wiki article for it.

edit: they dont save anywhere automatically, you take a screen and then paste it into paint or photoshop or what have you.

Tyler 10-23-2007 09:22 PM
I know this a n00b question but where do my screen shots save to?
Screenshots taken in?

gmoneyguy 10-23-2007 09:23 PM

like when press the print screen button.

Edit: thanks Iluvatar

Tyler 10-23-2007 09:24 PM
like when press the print screen button.
Those dont save. Print screen copies it to your clipboard, which you have to paste into paint, photoshop, etc and save yourself.

Nostalgia 10-23-2007 09:24 PM

They don't save. Go into paint and click paste.

yeah what that noob said

Concubine 10-23-2007 09:25 PM

Tyler 10-23-2007 09:30 PM

thread needs more opeth

Iluvatar 10-23-2007 09:31 PM

list needs more cedric

Opeth would be way better if Cedric Bixler-Zavala sang for them y/n

Tyler 10-23-2007 09:35 PM

Mayer needs to lay of the accoustic for awhile and maybe play some faster stuff, put on a couple Dissection and Mayhem records during the early hours to release eternal hate against god's supposed wrath, and put on corpse paint

Deth 10-23-2007 09:38 PM

John Mayer seems like a really cool guy and I don't even really like his music.
