Is there an official Pearl Jam thread?

the2stranger 10-01-2006 10:51 AM

Here is an established Pearl Jam thread:

Dark Banana 10-01-2006 11:19 AM

thanks a lot

Mekkalayakay 10-01-2006 01:20 PM

It would be hard to manage, but maybe there should be rock/metal music updates thread. New albums, new breakups, new anything.

Unless there already is one?

superpeer 10-01-2006 01:27 PM

Doesn't the news section on Sputnik cover that? Or is that too general?

Mekkalayakay 10-01-2006 01:31 PM

Alright cool that works, I'm not very active anymore. :(

Although it would be cool to have one specifically made towards metal, ie underground stuff.

Drunken Viking 10-01-2006 03:31 PM

www.sputnikmusic.com/metal that should do the trick.

Mekkalayakay 10-01-2006 04:28 PM

If I wanted to find out about Avenged Sevenfold maybe.

I don't know, it really isn't that big of a deal.

the2stranger 10-01-2006 04:37 PM

I don't think the underground metal community on MX is big enough to make this worthwhile. :(

Mekkalayakay 10-01-2006 04:53 PM

That's true.

But it could also make the mx underground ten times larger?

I mean this doesn't specifically have to be garage recorded death metal and black metal on a tape recorder in the middle of a forest, naked.

You could even make it where the members update, not just like one specific person. Not sure how you'd do this but ugh.

Either way, you're right, it isn't big enough of a community/interest to do something that requires so much work. :(

There is a special news section dedicated to just news for Metal (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/musicnews.php?genreid=4), but if you're looking for just a band go to www.sputnikmusic.com/band/Avenged+Sevenfold for them, or www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Opeth and it should have the most recent news for them on that page. Sorry if I'm not much help.

EDIT:Nvm, I see what you mean.

Any user with an account here can submit news. A lack of underground Metal news is only due to the apathy of the users here in regards to submitting it.

Nepenthe 10-01-2006 07:38 PM

It's also much harder to actually get news on underground metal bands than Avenged Sevenfold.

Bartender 10-01-2006 07:47 PM

In which case I'd much rather have a new thread around on it to grab my attention, rather than having to catch up on stuff posted in one long-existing thread.

Tyler 10-01-2006 07:48 PM

Yeah, you mostly have to scour their official sites, so it's usually by luck or chance you find something worth posting.

I'm wondering/hoping this is ban worthy. Maybe even ask the hardcore/emo mods to ban him to set an example.

Matt? 10-02-2006 02:36 PM

rofl just ban me now, i really don't mind, it's the price i must pay. seriously don't ask hardcore emo mods.

repcak 10-02-2006 02:37 PM
In fact, you're a straight up douche. Attempting to start rediculousness when you clearly know better. All this thread serves to do is maintain a false image of what emo is.
did you meant me? ok, i was making fun of this guy, but "emo" doesn't exist, as far as i know...

Matt OH! 10-02-2006 02:38 PM

oh jesus....

repcak 10-02-2006 02:40 PM

and it seems that he's back...

Bartender 10-02-2006 02:43 PM

No, emo is legitimate. It's just often ridiculed and so on.

Tyler 10-02-2006 02:45 PM

Emo's just mislabeled and misunderstood. People confuse contrived teenage poetry to be "emo" when in reality it's just a branch of hardcore.

Uhm, okay.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-02-2006 06:57 PM

And that kid has a bigger avatar than most of us. Who keeps handing those out? I want one, dammit.

Nostalgia 10-02-2006 07:03 PM

Hahahaha. I was thinking the same thing.

Bazarov 10-03-2006 01:38 AM

Can we please do something about these pun title threads? Most are overly long, and not even clever. Personally, I think it looks messy, and it would look better if it just had the band's name as the title.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-03-2006 01:44 AM

I don't think there should be a rule against them or anything, but yeah, they really do suck.

Bazarov 10-03-2006 01:45 AM

I'm not suggesting it be against the rules, but they're everywhere. Maybe it's just me who's starting to get annoyed.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-03-2006 01:47 AM

No, for me they became overdone months and months ago. It was kinda funny at first, but now it's just annoying.

superpeer 10-03-2006 08:09 AM

Yeah, I'm pretty sick of them too.

/edits some

I might hand out a bigger avatar, who knows, just have to find a way to figure out whom I'll give it to. =o

Apocalyptic Raids 10-03-2006 08:11 AM

Oh, the suspense!

Stoic 10-03-2006 11:25 AM

Oh come on guys, the thread titles were fine. You act like they were causing problem or something :-p

superpeer 10-03-2006 11:39 AM

They were causing headaches.

Stoic 10-03-2006 12:00 PM

alright then, why didn't you edit all the thread titles? You Blind Guardian hater
