Supposedly that's the DVD release. The CD I think is rumored for September.

Moses 06-21-2005 11:24 PM

Ok here's my bands song so far. Not done yet, got about 3 more minutes left to do, maybe more.

Ugh crap. I closed the window before I copied the link. Just a few more minutes.

Moses 06-21-2005 11:31 PM

Here we go.

That'd be awesome for me. I can definately wait that long, compared to what I was thinking.

As for the dates that's only what I've been hearing and I'm not expecting anything. Alot of bands delay for like five months anyway. You should post the song when you're done.

Well it was an April fools joke, but that doesn't mean he can't be a Christian.

Convectuoso 06-21-2005 11:50 PM

Yeah I didn't hate the fact he was christian it was the fact that he was stopping recording for it.

Wait, I didn't know that was part of the rumor.

The recording of it is extremely rough on an analog recorder with only guitars, but when my band finishes the song with a good recording, I'll be sure to post it here.

I'm still working out some things in the song, so give me a few minutes on the song you uploaded.

Convectuoso 06-21-2005 11:57 PM

Well that's what I heard anyways that why I was so eager to ask about the relase date.

Man, Tool really do know how to keep fans anxious. It better be worth it.

One more album and they'll be 65 and will want to retire :p

:)

Kage 06-21-2005 11:58 PM

That's what we're all afraid of.

Convectuoso 06-22-2005 12:06 AM

Anyone got the Guitar Pro tab for Sweat?

I'm out to learn all Tool songs on bass, starting with sweat and working my way through. *sighs*

:)

Moses 06-22-2005 12:06 AM

Danny Carey would deteriorate to nothing, and Maynard's voice would become frail. Well, not much on age and guitar or bass except arthritis.

One Groovin Clown 06-22-2005 12:06 AM

it iwll happen one day, dare i say it? One day there will no longer be no new Tool releases :( but i could wait till next year for they're new album.

Convectuoso 06-22-2005 12:07 AM

Oh and I'd learn off the Mxtab but the timings are a little wierd and I can't hear the bass on the parts I need to.

"The CD I think is rumored for September"-doubtful

"Well it was an April fools joke, but that doesn't mean he can't be a Christian."-doubtful

"One more album and they'll be 65 and will want to retire"-most likely :upset:

I think we all could if it meant not having them grow old.

*Cries at the thought*

tooltabs.net provide pretty in depth know how. Don't use the Guitar pro tabs they for some reason for Tool they sound NOTHING like they are supposed to.GP works great for every band but tool and I have no idea why.however if you wanted to on your own you could take the the tabs from tooltabs.net and put in your own GP

Merkaba 06-22-2005 12:14 AM

Well I just uncovered my old noisey effects processor today. I think I'm gonna rerecord Stinkfist in the afternoon and use it. It adds some hiss but I hope its not too much. If it is I'll chalk it. Anyways. cheerio.

Mr Herb 06-22-2005 12:19 AM

Wow. after this cd the next tool album will come out when am 21 or 22 porbably, wonder If ill still listen to them when that time comes.

I wish more Mx Tabbers would tab to GP. :(

Phobophile 06-22-2005 12:21 AM

GP is a top notch program but I have not run into ONE single half-decent Tool tab on GP.They are all horribly timed and they are horribly mistabbed. I am talking about the ones off of mysongbook.com btw.

Futuro 06-22-2005 12:49 AM

lateralus is correct except for the drum part.

Pyrophilliac 06-22-2005 02:08 AM
people always criticise Adam as he uses a lot of effects and people say he doesn't have much skill as a guitarist (although anyone who hears his amazing tremelos/speed picking will know otherwise).

I (obviously) think he's great. Its not just guitaring, it's also his videos and artwork that helps make Tool great
Adam is the weakest link as far as technical skill on his instrument....sorry but true his skills are no where near as evolved as maynards voice, justins bass abilities, and NO WHERE NEAR danny on drums.....and the tremelo/speed picking you speak of is nothing...(listen to dream theater and children of bodom if u want to see TRUE skill on the guitar) however adam jones doesn't play the normal role in tool that guitarists generally play in bands, he accents the rest of the music... it works out great. he is very good at what he does which is writing artsy riffs etc.
he's not about raw skill but about what works best for their music.

and as far as the comment on them being satanists...they are all against ALL organized religion...including satanism (which is just as bad as any of the others(no offense but true)

Vandle 06-22-2005 06:23 AM

His skill to create riffs that suit the music are obviously just as high as the other members skills are at what they bring to the band. How do you know how good he is at tremelo picking/speed picking ? Have you heard him play a dream theatre song or Nile song...?

How do you know what they are for and against ?

clearvision 06-22-2005 06:59 AM

WTF?

Adam's use of effects are second to none, morello comes close, but not quite. Please try and recreate the tone in triad.

Justin isn't too special compared to really amazing bassists like Myung...

Adam does a great job with complementing maynard, thats the way the band works...

Justin + Danny just set the groove of the song, Maynard creates the melody then adam just ties it all up.

Rothmans 06-22-2005 07:41 AM

I am actually starting to get annoyed about people saying how great maynard is, he isnt actually that good all he has is a great sounding voice he doesnt have much range or anything. The most amazing thing he has done is the scream in the Grudge and if some people tried hard enough they could do it.

All in all Maynard has a unique good sounding voice barely any range and he practically uss the same tone all the time.

kurrpt 06-22-2005 07:45 AM

well id say, name someone in that genre, or similar genre that is better, and ill take your post into consideration
