metalicajaymz 12-13-2007 04:00 AM

oh and I would pay almost any amount of money to see Mark Kozelek so yeah

br3ad_man 12-13-2007 04:34 AM

That venue is about 50 times the size of the one he played last time he was here.

Otherside 12-13-2007 10:00 AM

Kozelek is coming to the Cat's Cradle, which I'm betting a few of you have heard of... well regardless it's a 15 minute drive from my house so I'm absolutely going, and it's only 15 bucks :D

Here's a picture of what the stage looks like, from when our friends Superchunk played:

http://www.philaarts.com/images/sonicyouthpolvounwoundcharlie95.jpg

yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Zmev 12-14-2007 01:40 AM

I've seen posters that say Jawbreaker and Ween played at the same show.

Mother****er I wish I liked good music in 1995.

e: or was above the age of 8

Little Man being Erased 12-14-2007 01:42 AM

so you could be a 10 year old kid at a punk show?

edit: damn

YDload 12-14-2007 01:44 AM

well let's see, i liked green day back in 1995

green day's behind the music special featured a segment about punk bands who wrote poppy songs and were both ostracized by their original fanbase while never becoming popular after signing to a major label. Husker Du and The Replacements were mentioned and it was the first time i ever heard of them

so theoretically, had there been an internet back then, i could have learned about good music that much sooner. ah the wasted years...

Zmev 12-14-2007 01:48 AM

I heard Kurt Cobain on the radio before he died.

Oh yeah, and apparently I cried when I heard the Bangles on the radio

Little Man being Erased 12-14-2007 01:51 AM

I bought Nevermind before Cobain died. I think I was 12 or something. Not that I'm proud or anything.

Zmev 12-14-2007 01:52 AM

My favorite song from like age 4-9 was Running Down a Dream

pulseczar 12-14-2007 01:53 AM

My favourite song as a child split between Seal's Kiss from a Rose and Supertramp's Dreamer.

asdf 12-14-2007 01:54 AM

Cobain died on my 5th birthday.

niobium 12-14-2007 03:16 AM

cobain roughly two months before i turned 5

how dare you be older than me

ATM 12-14-2007 07:58 AM

I was born in Germany and was completely unaware of Nirvana, beyond the singles, until I was in high school.
