Haha I should and then see if my teacher notices.
Yeah it's okay it has to be typed so I'm just doing that and ue/oe/ae for umlauts.
you know you can easily do umlauts in word right? it's just in the symbol bit, and to make it easier you can make a shortcut to them

what i used to do was alt+u for ue etc

TimJim 10-05-2011 11:50 PM

not on us keyboards, i forget the exact combos because i'm not in german courses anymore but i know the u umlaut is alt+129 on the number pad, which laptops conveniently don't have.

rasputin 10-06-2011 04:17 AM

nah im talking in word, microsoft word

a letter with an umlaut will be in the symbols section, you can add it manually but you can also create your own shortcut to it

i highly doubt US versions of microsoft word do not have umlauts in the symbols thing

witchxrapist 10-06-2011 04:18 AM

Oh, cool. Too bad Word is bogus.

Morumbar 10-06-2011 08:21 AM

Can't you just press shift+the apostrophe and then press a button to have that letter have an umlaut on American keyboards?

witchxrapist 10-06-2011 08:33 AM

yeah I use notepad too, my Word stopped working over a year ago. need to give the code and I don't know where it is.
Can't you just press shift+the apostrophe and then press a button to have that letter have an umlaut on American keyboards?
yeah that capitalises it. it's there in the symbol section though.

christsimpson 10-06-2011 08:44 AM
