Holy Hell, I don't know if I'm kind of behind or something, but has anyone heard of Infernal Majesty? I downloaded an album just because the name sounded cool. It's some awesome thrash

ThrashMaster27 10-18-2005 11:57 PM

Oh yeah, they're a great band. None Shall Defy is classic. Those crazy Canadians! always thrashing away.

Anybody heard the King Diamond track from Roadrunner United? It's quite good considering the two guitarists were from Trivium. The intro sounds a bit too much like A Mansion In Darkness, though.

RCA 10-19-2005 06:30 AM

Okay, everyone try to find Fastkill's Metal Thrashing Holocaust, Paradox's Heresy, and Stormwarrior's self-titled album.

The Fastkill is great Japanese thrash with excellent riffs; some of you may already have stuff by them. Paradox: Think early Testament + Agent Steel and weak Belladonna-ish vocals. The guitarists are quite the shredders as well, and the songs move along nicely where they don't get boring. Finally, Stormwarrior's self-titled is awesome speed metal much like Gamma Ray and early Helloween, just I think it's better (they even covered 'Heavy Metal Is The Law').

That should be interesting. I know there's some good Japanese power metal bands (extra cheese, hold the godzilla)...I'll check that out :)

What does everyone think of Dark Angel's "Darkness Descends?" I think it's alright, but really nothing special.
What does everyone think of Dark Angel's "Darkness Descends?" I think it's alright, but really nothing special.
I totally agree with you.

We seem to get this question every now and then.

Terrorzone 10-19-2005 05:57 PM

Enough of the blaspheming.

That sounds like... really really, really really really really, REALLY bad. I think I'll save myself some trouble and not bother here.

Nah, Paradox fucking rule. I wouldn't recommend them if they were bad. :p

Time Does Not Heal > Darkness Descends

RavenousMetalist87 10-19-2005 08:24 PM

I got Inventor of Evil today.

Yes, I like it. Flame me :D

I'm in a very good mood so the flames won't do shit to me :)

ThrashMaster27 10-19-2005 11:34 PM

I like Inventor of Evil aswell. Not as good as The Antichrist, but still pretty decent. What you in a good mood about? Just got laid?

Yeah, so Dismember on sat. Should be a lot of fun. What's happened to that homosexual Jon? Seems to have disappeared.

Shred Danson 10-20-2005 11:54 AM

Yeah, Dew Scented are pretty damn good...I don't really consider them straight-up thrash but I dig 'em.

FatalEnergy 10-20-2005 05:39 PM

I'm surprised Face liked it a lot. I can't get enough of it either.

ThrashMaster is right though. It's no Antichrist, but it still fucking kicks major ass compared to a lot of the stuff coming out today.

The metalcore bands need to listen to this record.

FatalEnergy 10-20-2005 06:51 PM

I actually had to listen to it twice. The first time I listened to it I was like "Uhhh.....it's okay", but the second time through I was like "Wait.......this rules"

NP: Destruction - The Calm Before the Storm

how long have destruction been out?

Shred Danson 10-21-2005 08:08 AM

Speaking of which, does anybody see any similarities between Megadeth and Witchery? I don't know why, but when I first heard them, I thought "Megadeth"...

I don't post here much, (not at all really) but have been getting into thrash lately. I got Holocausto's Campo De Exterminio, it's great, what else should I get by them?

Go for the follow-up to that album, Blocked Minds. If you're into technical stuff, try out Negatives.

RavenousMetalist87 10-22-2005 10:21 AM

Ryan is feeling neglected :upset:

If it wasn't for Ryan's umm...Heroes of Thrash threads, I wouldn't have learned about Mekong Delta or Festering Sore.

w00t!

Terrorzone 10-22-2005 10:29 AM

I think I'm going to have to carve Meklong Delta in my arm, because I always forget to buy one of their cds. But I did just get Metal Church-The Dark

Speaking of my Heroes Of Thrash threads, I may have to bring that series into the underground for a while. :(

I downloaded Cannibal Corpse's 1989 demo, because I heard it was thrash and well..... it's hardly death metal. Raw Thrash all the way. Barnes sounds like Don Doty most of the time

oh yes, I also found Razors's Shotgun Justice it's pretty great

NP: Razor - Miami

RetiredAt21 10-22-2005 01:43 PM

What's their demo called? I'd like to hear it.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2005 02:46 PM

It's self titled, but somtimes you'll see it under the name A Skull Full Of Maggots

I havent heard it but I do have their 1990 album Eaten Back to Life which has I think 4 of the same songs as the demo. I agree that it isn't death metal. I definetly recommend Eaten Back to Life to anyone who wants some good raw thrash.
