So, I've officially made the best Maiden mix CD EVER

My mate's heard a few Maiden songs, he likes what he's heard but wants to get to know more of their stuff. With this in mind, I made a CD that showcases all the different styles of Maiden.

With this in mind: tracklist

1. The Wicker Man
2. Killers
3. Can I Play With Madness?
4. Purgatory
5. Aces High
6. Out Of The Silent Planet
7. Blood Brothers
8. Paschendale
9. Sign Of The Cross
10. Where Eagles Dare
11. Powerslave
12. To Tame A Land

so, what do ya'll think?
How can you get someone into Maiden if they don't hear The Trooper??

GurS 06-24-2005 05:11 PM

he's heard it before, and likes it.. he's heard most of the trademark tunes, this is meant to be expanding his maiden taste

YDload 06-24-2005 05:14 PM

Oh I see, I should have read more carefully. :(

Lord Abortion 06-25-2005 03:23 AM

ah, the standard songs,
that would be any that have had a video on kerrang then yes?

as bruce said" so MTV have discovered Iron maiden, well whoop-de -fucking-do"

the_uber_penguin 06-25-2005 04:58 AM

I was watching our fortunately named Andy take over from Tim Henman as UK favourite tennis player.

Some of his antics between points made him look very much like he was originally a rock star.

Any relation to a certain Dave, I wonder?

EDIT: snyp'd  ... or not

Lord Abortion 06-25-2005 05:09 AM

indeed, it would be amusing if he won wimbledon this year, he may be related, but is scottish, so...

crag 06-25-2005 05:20 AM

Thunder Fingers 06-25-2005 05:59 AM

I think Bruce sounds better singing them (except prowler), too bad the sound quality on that album is bad. :upset:

I may will get flamed for this but am i the only one that thinks that the songs 'Iron Maiden' and 'Sanctuary' are pretty poor songs? (when i say poor i mean poor by maiden standards)

YDload 06-25-2005 01:30 PM

Nah, they're ok but really different than most other Maiden songs. "Iron Maiden" doesn't have any real guitar solos, and "Sanctuary" sounds more like a KISS song.

Anyway, has anyone (preferrably from the US) ever heard Maiden on the radio before? I haven't.

I've only heard them 3 times on the Radio. I heard Wildest Dreams and No More lies (A really shortened version) on Kerrang Radio. And I heard the Run to the Hills Re-release on the Charts.

The only Iron Maiden songs I've heard on the radio are "The Trooper", "Run to the Hills", and "Wildest Dreams".

I've heard Die With Your Boots On and Aces High on the radio as well. I think I've heard Rainmaker a few times too.

Lord Abortion 06-25-2005 03:28 PM

Because Mike Dirnt sucks. Well, not really, but compared to the rest of the really deserving ones I think he does.

Thunder Fingers 06-25-2005 03:57 PM

 you cant change him, people will start to complain... JARI!

No really, he's not even in a pop-punk band at this point; they're just pop. Is that really a valid genre for this competition? I mean, I was stretching it when I let punk and pop-punk bassists on, but this is a little too much.

Thunder Fingers 06-25-2005 03:59 PM

ok...

Jari...
