I was thinking that I would maybe do a write up on a band sooner or later. But Does it matter if theres already a thread for that band? Or do I do the write up of the band in the band thread ?

Well I was thinking of making one on Blind Guardian. Theres already a thread of them but I realized that Blind Guardian threads come and go. Ive seen 3 since I registered, inlcuding the one I made that got closed because there was one already.
