I believe he was on Leno a few nights ago. Great show :thumb:
|
I'm considering giving it a shot. I think I'd rather finger-pick.
I believe a thumb pick is common, or regular pick. |
Was he hyping his new album or anything? Or did he just play his older stuff?
|
I'm going to a Bob Dylan show! Whooo!

He's still alive? :p I need to get me some tickets. He's amazing live. |
I believe a thumb pick is common, or regular pick.
That's good, because I find I'm usually better at thumb picking on string instruments. By the way Badmoon, who was the guy(I think you said he played Mandolin) Jerry Garcia played with? Which of their albums would you recommend? |

Speaking of Bob Dylan, I noticed there was a story about him in Newsweek or something. I haven't read it though, I only saw the cover. |
he's playing at this college i work at. i don't know how they got him. It only seats like 1500 people.
|
He should be selling out domes of 20000. Or maybe all of his fans are dead because he;s so old.

What si everybody favourite Beatles song???
|
Favorite Beatles Song=Hard to choose. Probably between Dear Prudance, Sexy Sadie, Polythene Pam, Sgt. Pepper's Reprise, and I Want to Tell You.
And its really funny how you guys thought Bob Dylan was that old. That's like the age of 40s and 50s jazz and early rock stars. |
Favourite Beatles song? I don't know how many times I've said it in this forum, you guys are probably sick of me ranting about this song, but it's 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'
The Beatles + Eric Clapton = Classic |
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is an absolute classic. My favorite Beatles song depends on my mood, usually. Sometimes it's "The Long and Winding Road", sometimes "Let it Be", other times "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", and still others at other times.

classic rock. either love it or hate it, u gotta respect it because it laid the foundation for what rock is today.

Yea thats my favorite Beatles song too.. *useful conversation interrupted again by something so insightful I never would have thought of it* |
yea stairway is one of the most if not THE most overrated songs of all time. its not even the best zep song let alone the best of all time.
My Opinion On It: Stairway is the Best Zeppelin song. This is comming from a guy who has heard all of their songs. It is literally miles in front of the rest. I main judgement on the reason why you guys are bashing it is because it is popular. Popular songs will be called overated. Maybe it is the most n00b Led Zeppelin song but it is still by far the best. Wouldn't we all love to say "Stairway is ****ing overated, Rain Song and No Quarter owns it hardcore, **** noobs and their stairway obsession". Maybe the fact that it is overplayed to the max puts a bias on the whole view of Stairway, people can call it boring. But looking impartially, at lyric, musical composition and just the whole piece in general, I believe it is their finest work. Stop bashing it just to be different. btw: Who ever says you have to wait 6 minutes of boredom for the last 2 minutes of good stuff is retarded. |
Well said. Let's close on that. No more Led Zeppelin talk in here unless absolutely neccisary.

It=teh zwnz0rz. Jeff's playing on it is argueably better than clapton's. |

BETTER than Clapton's?? I oughta give that a listen.. Is it on :shifty eyes: "the site"? |
Obiously Healey isn't a better guitarist than Clapton. But that certain guitar part was better done methinks.
It's not on  the site. I bet you find it on some music pirating site. |
