And is it just me or does holier than thou seem underrated?
YES! That is one of my favorite Metallica songs. I think it's the most underrated of all of their songs

JACKROXYOU 02-06-2005 10:09 PM

i think its good where it is

Joe 02-06-2005 10:13 PM
Hey guys, how good of a singer is Kirk Hammett? I'm must wondering. My guess guess is he's not too good. What do you guys think?
^^since there hasn't been a new topic in awhile, ill bring one up from the 100s pages

I haven't really heard him sing very much. CLiff and Jason were both ok. They sang Seek and Destroy, i'm pretty sure. Cliff on KEA and Jason on Live Sh*t. And now it's all james, i don't think rob sings

JACKROXYOU 02-06-2005 10:17 PM

he does

Joe 02-06-2005 10:18 PM
he does
that was pretty vague, when does he sing?

JACKROXYOU 02-06-2005 10:19 PM

when ever hes supposed to

metal_milita 02-06-2005 10:20 PM

My setup is a BC Rich X shaped guitar with yellow lightning bolts ( :upset: don't ask, it came like that) and a Marshal amp (not too big)

To me, Blackened or Creeping Death are the most underrated songs. Of course my definition of underrated is that not enough people like it, so once they do and I have achieved my purpose of drawing attention to it, it will be over-rated.

I hate that cycle.

Joe 02-06-2005 10:20 PM
when ever hes supposed to
like when though? did he ever do a whole song like cliff or jason?

JACKROXYOU 02-06-2005 10:21 PM

fender strat with digitech death metal petal

and a talkbox

metal_milita 02-06-2005 10:26 PM

Why are you guys so intent on whoring yourself for reps?? The whole point of rep is to earn you respect around the forum by true and meaningful posts that can stir someone, not to be an "3733t" or cool member of this forum. And on top of that, you beg for reputation points in public. I though you guys earned your reputation points like other people, but you just turned out to be big *** rep whores.
Might as well put under your name you REP WHORES

Why are you guys so driven to get the 4 stars, especially when you AND EVERYONE ELSE knows you never earned them.

ya, who was just rep whorring in community thread???

yes he does. there was an article about the top 10 guitarists with the worst tone and #3 was Kirk Hammett. Now that i really think about it, i can't remember a live solo without the wah pedal. He really uses it WAY too much. It really was cool when he was doing it with some songs, but when he got to live it just bothers me. He's great at the wah pedal, but is he good at playing his own solos without it? He did it to record, why won't he do it on stage???

peacesells1256 02-06-2005 10:32 PM

look, is this scott K or not?

Don't accuse me of going off topic "again" or fear having me recount all your un-metallica (or rep whoring) posts since the last time.

Just answer the god-**** question seeing as how you barley talk about Metallica anyways eh?

peacesells1256 02-06-2005 10:33 PM

Fine you caught me.

It's almost as though Kirk uses his wah, because he wants to make his solos sound cooler, as if they're not good enough for him. I could have done just as good of a doodle as he did when I saw him live, because he just did repeating patterns, and stomped on his wah pedel the whole time.

Ok ok fine, stick to your rep whoring and i'll leave you alone about it from now on.

Anyways, I loved Kirks intro solo to Fade to Black on the Germany, 1985 concert off Cliff 'Em All, that is how his guitar should sound.

Yea really. when i saw them last october i noticed that too. when i bought live sh*t he did this doodle with very little wah pedal. maybe he really does have arthritis. he was a really fast and unbelievable guitarist back in the late 80s early 90s. it's 15 years later now and he's been playing incredibly fast guitar for probably 30 years, so i think he really might have arthritis.
