My question is why the hell are the going to London? It's a U.S. Tour.
OH MY GOD!!! OMG, THATS WHERE I LIVE!!! OMG I <3 you, bringer of good news! and to answer your question, they are going to London cus I live there. |
I reckon the Grand Conjuration has some pretty nice drumming in it. Martin Lopez is a great drummer. And his drumming actually *adds to the song, it doesn't just go along side it.
Yeha i agree there. Alot of the beats are as distinctive as the guitar parts, and you dont need to be a drummer to notice them. NP: The Drapery Falls - Such an epic song its untrue!! |

Meh not in the US either. *greedy american* |
Yo thread, I was just wondering if one of you lovely Opeth fans could upload "To Bid You Farewell" for me. I'd appreciate it a hell of a lot. (Via yousendit would be great)
|
Yeah, I will.
|
if you go to singingfish.com and do a search for opeth, there is "to bid you farewell"
|
I need your email, rik.
EDIT: Sent. |

 They better have more Canadian dates... |
They better have more Canadian dates...
They usually have one or two. However for me the most important thing is to be able to make it to at least one of their shows. Well, it's second most important to Porcupine Tree Touring again and me making it that. |
Usually bands hit a place in Ontario, then a place in B.C. Sometimes they come up through Alberta though, which is what I'm hopeing for.
|
I got no chance of seeing them on this tour...
GODDAMN YOU STUPID WEBSTER'S HALL! I wish Opeth would play B.B. King's...that's like one of the only places I can go to go see concerts. One of the only places that has all ages concerts. |
Every concert I've looked into here has been all ages... it's great.
|
I really really really hope they come to Houston with Devin Townsend. I really want to see them live.
|
I've never seen DTB live, and them with Opeth is my dream concert. I'm going to see that London show for sure. Anyone know if it's all ages?
|
Pfft, thats old. We talked about that in the Dark Tranquil thread already. :p
Hey, I've been out for a few weeks because of vacation. Give me a break, I'm a bit behind. :p This is huge, though. DT are by far my favorite melodic death band and one of my favorites of all time, and Devin Townsend is one of my favorite musicians...having those two groups along with Opeth is just incredible. Now, if only Lopez would get better...then it would be perfect. |
Yeha i agree there.

Opeth better come to AZ this time...
|
I'll likely have multiple simultanious orgasms if they end up comin to Alberta or B.C.

That's the one I'm gonna be at :D
Dark Tranquillity. Devin Townsend Band. Aaaaaghh!!!!!!! *freaks out*
Haha, my reaction exactly :p |
Well, my plans for going fell through. My friend who I was going to go with decided not too, because he's kind of short on money, and his parents talked him out of it.
So....someone make me a bootleg copy! ;) |

Cool, I'm just outside Edmonton. |
Bastage.
How do they play the acoustic parts of different songs live though, with only 2 guitars?
Yes, when it recquires more than two guitars (for instance, Bleak) they help themselves with Per Wirberg, who makes some parts, and for acoustics they use clean electrics with acoustic pick-ups, I suppose, but they sound like clean guitar. That's for the most of the songs that have a lot of leads and electric, but for a lot of songs out of Damnation they actually use acoustics. EDIT: And by a lot I mean some. |
I don't think they use acoustic pickups or channels or anything like that, they just set it to a clean channel. They should get those though, like during The Leper Affinity live for instance, the guitar (ton) sounds kinda crappy during the acoustic break.
|
I brought this up almost a week ago!
And Darkness wouldn't believe me . |
