To ease a little bit of the suffering we have to put up with here.

What? And let a black person be gifted without persecution? That's un-American!

Seriously...

Illmatic 06-14-2005 12:06 AM

I for one have not seen that.

That some pretty creepy stuff right there.

Steerpike 06-14-2005 12:20 AM

I just got through watching the remake of Cape Fear with Robert DeNiro. That was intense. Messed with my reflux somethin' fierce.

Illmatic 06-14-2005 12:24 AM
I just got through watching the remake of Cape Fear with Robert DeNiro. That was intense. Messed with my reflux somethin' fierce.
I love that movie, and De Niro's performance in it is one of the best ever, considering how much of a stretch the character is for him.

However, I loved it but I only saw it once and only plan to see it once. It's so creepy and disturbing that I don't think I can sit through it a second time.

:(.

Anyway, for the record, I enjoyed school too.

I missed the bloody bus again and am therefore missing law revision class,
my exam is tomorrow and I know for a fact that I am going to have to resit at least one module, because I have done no revision for it... at all.
the other one I am confident fairly in, and am therefore giving my paltry revision time to MX

Saved from second page.

Moving rules. all my stuff is now packed in the truck, it was a pain in the ass getting it all packed, especially all eight of my guitars and shit...but it'll be fun driving across the USA.

ArcLite 06-14-2005 09:20 AM

Where you moving to?

Shred Danson 06-14-2005 09:22 AM

Kentucky. I've pretty much been talking about it for the past month or so. I'm moving out away from my parents.

ArcLite 06-14-2005 09:28 AM

I'm in NC, originally from Minnesota. Can't say I'm a fan at all of this south eastern region. The hunting and fishing sucks, no snowmobiling, and a large percentage of the cities are trashy. But this is more costal than KY. It's probably nicer over there.

Shred Danson 06-14-2005 09:30 AM

Yeah, I'm from western Kentucky, there's pretty good game here, sucks for you :p . It is pretty fricken' beautiful where I'm from, as opposed to the town in California where I'm at right now, which is in the desert region and is pretty much a piece of crap town trying to look nice. California stresses me out, man. Kentucky is relaxing to me, I guess it's because of all the family, or just the environment...

which part of nc you in? if you find the right place then it's awesome, but some places just suck i 'll admit it.

robo2448 06-14-2005 09:37 AM

I live in NY, it's not very relaxed, but still cool. :)
I've gone to California for each of the last 2 summer vacations and it has been awesome

Do you know Corbin KY, I had to a report on it for school, everyone was assigned to do a report on a random small town and that was mine.

Shred Danson 06-14-2005 09:38 AM

I think I've heard of it. I'm from La Center, which is in Ballard County, right next to the borders of Illinois and Missouri. 25 miles from Paducah, I think...

Aye, Chapel Hill and Charlotte are the only cool places in NC. Every place else is pretty much garbage, if you ask me.

ArcLite 06-14-2005 09:56 AM

I'm in Fort Bragg/Fayetteville, and Fayetteville is pretty much pure ghetto trash. I'm sure it's nicer more west though.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Blowing Rock in the West part of NC is pretty nice too.

Shred Danson 06-14-2005 10:35 AM

I haven't been to the East Coast (aside from New York)...

(spares R&M from another second-rate thread about a band)

Any of you into Seemless? I've been listening to them, they seem to be a better fit for Jesse Leach than Killswitch was. They kind of remind me of COC...

Ibanez Slayer 06-14-2005 10:46 AM

yeah, chapel hill and charloote are awesome. But i do like the whole southern feel, so i also like wilkesboro and the good side of asheville

My uncle lived at Fort Bragg for awhile when he was in the military, and we used to visit him there. I quite liked it from what I can remember.

Nope, I don't really care for music in the vein of Killswitch. :)

It's nothing like Killswitch. As I said, it sounds more like Corrosion of conformity than KSE.

Haha, I didn't really like it all the same, I didn't like the vocals, haven't heard the other bands or else I might have had an idea of what it would be like.

Shred Danson 06-14-2005 11:03 AM

You haven't heard any COC?

Wow.

ArcLite 06-14-2005 11:05 AM

I've heard of them many times, but also haven't ever heard any. What type of tunes are they?

Shred Danson 06-14-2005 11:06 AM

Who, COC?

They're a mix of hard rock, southern rock, punk and metal.

Seemless is a mix of southern rock, metal, and rock.

Silenius 06-14-2005 11:06 AM
You haven't heard any COC?

No, I guess I listen to too much scandinavian metal to know much about other bands. :(

Shred Danson 06-14-2005 11:10 AM

I could tell by the username ;lol: I listen to the same stuff you do, but I would expand my tastes in rock and metal if I were you, bro. an open mind to music is key to musicianship, as I have learned.

Oh trust me. I listen to AC/DC, Sabbath, Ozzy, Van Halen, all the classics. It's just some of the newer Rock that I don't like. I even will listen to Pop and Techno and shit.

I even like ABBA

Shred Danson 06-14-2005 11:17 AM

Ah, well you just have to look past the MTV and FUSE bands, dude. Like the Killers and stuff, that's crap to me.

I'm going to pretend I didn't see that fine print

Well, I'm gonna take off for now. See y'all on Saturday, or something. road ttrip begins tomorrow morning.

ATM 06-14-2005 11:19 AM

Have a safe trip, man.

Well they're both pretty Bleh. But at least I can think of a couple of Maiden songs I like, when I really can't think of good NIN songs.
