Um...cool to see a new Tool fan on the board, but keep the censored words to a minimum alright? It makes reading your post like a puzzle.

That different snare sound you guys are hearing on the TOOL song schism is a flanger effect...listen to the song again you can hear it on the entire drum track, plus the cymbals on some parts have the effect over them...actually my bro R0und3r says he hears it on a few of the bass and guitar parts as well.

Mr Herb 07-15-2005 12:03 PM

I know what you are talking about. they do use flanger I think but its also something more like differently toned snares.

Syncratic 07-15-2005 12:08 PM

Does anyone think that in the APC song 'Judith,' a part of the solo sounds like a fill from Ænema?

I guess no one would be able to emulate Adam's tone like Billy Howerdell.

I think not really.

Could you tell me wich parts or part? Ill check and tell ya

Syncratic 07-15-2005 12:11 PM

I was just reminded of a riff from Ænema when I heard the Judith solo...not a specific one, but it just sounded like a riff from it.

Billy Howerel is great at managing tones and all that stuff. I dont find him very techinical or anything but he knows the guitar very well

Hidden Place, Pagan Poetry, Sun In My Mouth are all good songs. I have about 3 albums, but I'm only listening to one right now. So check out some of those songs, it might not be for everyone though :/
It's all an open center
Opens up and lets the wind lift him away
It doesn't have to feel water
? It's just a place that feels right with him ?
Kinda like the way you're breathing
I kinda like the way you keep looking away
Would you like to glide on
Slide a mile six inches at a time on Maynard's dick

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
? then you're careful grace for sure ?
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away
Would you like to climb on
Climb on my six inches and go down on Maynard's dick

Took you out in the back of the toolshed
Put it right on top of your forehead
Took you out in the back of the toolshed
Now you know what you're ****in with... Maynard's dick!
I just felt it needed to be posted.

Syncratic 07-15-2005 01:02 PM

Why did you need to post the lyrics to 'Maynard's Dick'?

as for the flanging that can be entirely true. hell you can do that in cool edit.
