So I got TuneUp for itunes cause it's a mess and I'm crazy about things being correct. Sure is gonna take a hell of long time to tag 12,000 songs. :(

I never did. I have all the file names correct and into nice folders, but none of the tags are correct. The list looks all screwy on my ipod and it pisses me off.

mp3 files have an id3 tag which contains information like album, track number, artist, title, etc. and it's what things like Itunes use to correctly identify your files.

If some comes up like 01 - track by artist with no album, then the ID3 tag is wrong.

I always renamed my files in windows explorer to the correct titles/albums in a very organized structure. But apparently that means nothing to Itunes or last.fm

Most of my songs don't need tagging :-/
