I don't have money to buy CD's, noob.

i have a balance of buying cds and just downloading them, there are just some albums that my record store just cant get so i download them, but i really like having the whole cd and booklet and everything

Actually its faster to download rather than get in the car, drive to the record and tape traders (although its only 5 minutes away) and then rip the cd. And cheaper!

Record labels are the best scams ever cause none realizes that they're being robbed cause the label is helping them get exposure

well yes and no

labels do take too much from the bands for the work, but the labels also pay for the production, studio time, even equipment at times, and the exposure is definitely worth it if a band gets big enough, cause who cares about record sales when you have merch. scene kids love merch.

Hi, I'm a semi-professional recording artist working under contract as well and I also download music. I can guarantee most bands these days working under the title of "metal", "hardcore" or "punk" do not make any sort of living off of their recordings unless they're super-huge like say, Lamb of God. That's just the way the industry is. Welcome to the music business, Matt.

I'm not worried about the business aspects of it at all. As long as I'm touring and playing music I'm a happy camper. That's all that matters to me.
