Oh yeah. You know they actually spawned a hit from that movie? I can't remember which song it was though.

nisakss 09-23-2004 02:13 PM

Yeah, they even got to tour and put out a cd if I'm not wrong. But it's just that they are quite convincing, when I first saw it I was sure the band existed, although it did seem weird that Fran Drescher (the nanny) was a music producer. SHould have know by then...

FUNKNBASS 09-23-2004 02:15 PM

This Is Spinaltap is by far the greatest mockumentary ever. "Get me out of this HELL HOLE". The seen when the bassist got stuck in the pod is priceless.

Jaded 09-23-2004 02:26 PM
I love it, I saw it laike a month ago, and I've already seen it like three times.

And you?
I have it one DVD and I've seen it like 20 times. I love that movie.

"He died in a freak...gardening accident. It was one of those things the authorites decided was best, you know, unsolved."

Jaded 09-23-2004 02:28 PM

"I don't think the correography was the problem. I think it was the fact that we had a Stonehenge monument onstage that was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf. That tended to understate the "hugeness" of it."

nisakss 09-23-2004 02:35 PM

aahahahha, yeah that's extremely funny, how about the interview when they say say that they are not university material

Radiobass81 09-23-2004 02:44 PM

I now have E and A with flats and D and G with rounds... I know, comkpletely off topic, but it gives such a cool sound...

PaulSimonon 09-23-2004 03:02 PM

I string the D with an A string, a bit hard to pop, but the tone is immensly better.... I'd put heavier strings pn the others, but I don't want to spend the money and my fretless needs new flatwounds anyways....

Tryxx 09-23-2004 03:08 PM

<Random Spam Post>I've been playing bass a year today!</Random Spam Post>

PaulSimonon 09-23-2004 03:11 PM

Congrats Tryxx! I'm getting closer and closer......

Tryxx 09-23-2004 03:13 PM

Thanks a bunch...just to think I walked out of the store with my first bass a year ago today...::tear::

PaulSimonon 09-23-2004 03:16 PM

*sigh*

I think I'm going to have my parents my me a Rondo fretless 5er (ony 200$USD) and I'll buy myself a Rondo 6er (350$ USD?) for christmas....

Tryxx 09-23-2004 03:18 PM

I got one of my Christmas presents early...a Peavey TNT 115... I'm asking for a fretless Schecter Stilleto Studio 4 and a Cort Burbow 6...maybe I'll get lucky.

nisakss 09-23-2004 03:22 PM

You had a bass before you learned how to play?? I had to play for about two years before I got mine

PaulSimonon 09-23-2004 03:24 PM

I knew a little bit, no theory or anything before I started playing.

Potatoe 09-23-2004 03:26 PM
You had a bass before you learned how to play?? I had to play for about two years before I got mine
i got a bass for my 16th bday... and an amp :D

nisakss 09-23-2004 03:28 PM

Lucky bastard

Tryxx 09-23-2004 03:29 PM

Er...I started playing for the wrong reasons. Band needed a bassist, I was handed a silvertone by a friend, played it for a week, was playing things he couldn't and he'd been playing two years. So, I convinced my dad to get me a bass. And then I just fell in love and kept playing from there.

Foxfire 09-23-2004 03:29 PM

I'll be playing for a year since Christmas too. :)

Let's see...hopefully soon I'm getting a Roland DB-500 (next month? :p)

For Christmas and Birthday (Birthday is December 13)...how about some custom wiring on my Conklin? ;)

Strong Bad is awsomely funny.

Just had a bit of fun with away messages. After leaving this up for about a minute and a half, I got:

"We got cancelled."
"What, at the hotel?"
"No, Boston. I wouldn't worry about it, its not a big college town."

Classic.
