Dave Mustains top 10 metal bands. |
Nice list.
I was expecting Mercyful Fate and maybe Diamond Head there, though. |
I couldn't see it, what bands are on the list?
Nah, Mercyful Fate is a Lars Ulrich favorite, not a Mustaine favorite, besides MF could be a bit "Satanic" for Dave. |
Well, Dave's rhythm playing is 5 times better than Marty's.
There aren't many people who can hold anything to Mustaine's rhythm in my opinion... :p Maybe John Petrucci...
http://www.forums.megadeth.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=141544&stc=1&d=1153664 886 Dave Mustains top 10 metal bands.
Can you just post the list here? *Not a member of Megadeth forums :p |
I'm not a member either.
|
1. Led Zeppelin
2. AC/DC 3. Judas Priest 4. Iron Madien 5. Black Sabbath 6. Metallica 7. Megadeth 8. Anthrax 9. Slayer 10. Pantera Whats with Metalica being there? And whats with Slayer and Pantera there aswell, I thought they hated him??? |
Dave Mustaine HAD issues with Metallica and Slayer, but he always had massive respect and admiration to the rest of the Big Four of thrash.
I'm kind of dissapointed with that list, if he was on MX he would be bashed till no end. Not that the list is bad, but all those bands are overrated. |
Oshi .. sorry guys I did'nt know you had to be a member.
|
Maybe John Petrucci...
His rhythm playing? :-\ |
Yes, his rhythm playing... Is there something weird with that?
I love his Lead work, but his rhythm really shines to me (Same with Mustaine actually). |
There's nothing wrong with it, but he doesn't really touch Mustaine.
|
Yeah, I don't consider Petrucci much of a rhythm player. Dave is one of the best there is as far as rhythm goes though.
His list... sucks. |
Yeah, the list looks more like a suck up list than a real influence list.
Lame. |
Jon Schaffer's Rhythm is better than Dave's, but not by much.
hehe, Dave's top two metal bands aren't even metal:( |
Yeah, but I can see how the first few bands were actually influences on him, but to name the rival bands of Megadeth is kind of retarded.
|
It's probably just him going even further to let the world know he's a good guy now and doesn't hold any grudges.
|
That's lame. Especially since Megadeth was formed pretty much on the complete hatred of another band. Dave's lost his edge.
|
And Set The World Afire is evidence of that.
|
Yeah he said he forgived them and apologised etc.
Probably his way of showing that. |
Yeah he said he forgived them and apologised etc.
Probably his way of showing that.
That's pretty much what I was thinking. |
It's sad though. I miss the real pissed off, snarling, evil, drug induced Mustaine.
|
Or maybe he's just in love with the Metallica stuff he wrote :p

I think everyone does. |

Wouldn't you be too? :p I saw a talk with Mustaine on YouTube, I believe, recently, where he was talking about rhythm guitarist who are better then him.. He said AC/DC and Metallica :thumb: |
better at playing rhythm guitar parts or just rhythm guitar players in general?
|
I'm not really sure, but I'd say he meant better rhythm guitar players.
|
In terms of skill and technique I think he's way better than both Malcolm and James. I don't get it.
|
He didn't actually say James, he just said "The guy from Metallica", although said "Malcolm Young from AC/DC"..
|
I must say Malcom Young is a very solid guitarist, but isn't anything spectacular, and James screws up live a lot.
|
Malcolm rules.
