Nah, I'm 100 percent sure it's Paul. It's during his part:
Woke up, fell out of bed Dragged a comb across my head made my way downstairs and drank a cup ...... had a smoke and somebody spoke and I went into a dream
Ohhh, I just saw 'In' and 'Life' and my brain said "In My Life". If I bothered to pay attention to the lyrics you were talking about I probably would have noticed. Whoops. |
Now how will I ever hear the Satanic concept?
  |
This thread makes no sense now.
|
It's just crazy Flynn and his internal jokes.
Anyhow, for the first time ever I listened to "Still Life" as a whole... What. A. Mother. Fucking. Piece. Of. Masterpiece. For real. |
I listen to it almost every day, My only CD i have at the moment:upset:
I left my CD case at my other home up north. |
Here's an obvious one: "Searching My Way to Perplexion." One of the best vocal deliveries of all time, but what the **** does it mean?!
per·plex (pr-plks) tr.v. per·plexed, per·plex·ing, per·plex·es 1. To confuse or trouble with uncertainty or doubt. 2. To make confusedly intricate; complicate. My guess, is he used Perplexion instead of Perplex, or Perplexing to demonstrate the outcome or make the definition of the phrase completed. ''Searching my way to (as one of being intricate) = Perplexion, ahhh ahhh ahhh'' Now, if the line was ''Searching my way to Perplexed, Perplexing, or Perplexes,'' it wouldn't make sense. Perplexion isn't a word, but I've seen it used a few times before in Poetry.
I've been listening to MAYH to death lately...I think I finally "got" it as others have. It really is an amazing album.
Definitely their best work. My Arms, Your Hearse is amazing. |
What's the deal with "The Apostle In Triumph" fading out and then back in at the start? Really odd.
|
I read that it was a problem with the production. Apparently it was supposed to be part of Requeim but ended up on Apostle. I like it as it is though, it's unique.
|
I love the part, but having it as an intro when it should've been an outro is confusing.
|
I hated it at first, but now I find it quirky and nice.
|
I love it, beautiful
|
Never heard it, I plan to purchase 3 CDs tomorrrow.
A death CD, Opeth and Novembers Doom :D |
Here's a hint, forget the Death and November's Doom and get 3 Opeth CDs :thumb:
|
Here's a hint, forget the Death and November's Doom and get 3 Opeth CDs :thumb:
Naaaaaaaah.. Death and Novembers Doom are both excellent bands. |
I would go with one Death and two Opeth albums.
|
is there any chance they will play beneath the mire in australia , i just finished listening to it again and i just realized how amazing it is
|
Here's a hint, forget the Death and November's Doom and get 3 Opeth CDs :thumb:
Fun Fact, Only two more Opeth albums to get:thumb: There should be Setlists floating around on the net. But i can't be bothered to find it. One more thing, When Mikael is about to announce the next song, dont be a dick and yell it out before he says it. Heard some stories. |
^Nice.
I only have Still Life and Ghost Reveries. Argh, money. ;/ |
I have Still Life, Morningrise,Ghost Reveries, Damnation, Deliverance and Blackwater Park.
Just two more. :) Oh yea, I was listening to the Moonlapse Vertigo solo and was wondering what the **** was happening lol |

How or why would somebody search for perplexion?
Definitely their best work. My Arms, Your Hearse is amazing.
Madrigal and the Amen Corner have really been doing it for me in particular. The whole lead in into Demon of the Fall is just spectacular. |
Haha well I understand the word, it's just that, as a phrase, it makes no sense. How or why would somebody search for perplexion?
I think it means that through his searching, he has found only perplexion. |
One more thing, When Mikael is about to announce the next song, dont be a dick and yell it out before he says it. Heard some stories.
One time some dude yelled out Deliverance because he knew it was the next song in the set and Mikael said, "No, actually the next song is <insert corny pop song here>" and I think they started to play whatever song it was  Everyone needs to go to the Opeth ultimatemetal forum and read the thread on the first two pages entitled "Mikael the Comedian." It's amazing. |
I think it means that through his searching, he has found only perplexion.
That would make sense, I suppose...it still sounds like he's looking to be confused, though. |

I love how the album ends. Epilogue has to be my favorite intrumental ever. Everything about MAYH is extraordinary though, I really like how Åkerfeldt put the songs together lyrically. Much like you, this album took a long time to grow on me, and to be honest, when I first listened to it, I thought it was Opeth's worst album of all. I was ignorant. |

And the Damnation one was probably Closure, they usually extend that with a trippy jam session before the final riff, and make the end heavy. |
It would be cool if they did To Bid You Farewell as an encore.
Yeah, I'd probably have an orgasm if they did. |
There are easier ways of achieving that.
|
^ Yes.
Such as listening to The Leper Affinity. |
Or you can get the hot chicks with Damnation set and get double orgasm.
|
I figured out the real lyric to Demon of The Fall. It goes "Silent fart of death!
