Zappa 02-16-2006 04:34 PM

Another Green World (by Brian Eno) really is one of those miraculous records.

Tangy zizzle 02-16-2006 04:45 PM

Yeah that is a pretty cool album. They turned cruddy after it though.

BillCosby 02-16-2006 04:54 PM

Dr. Dre - 2001

The singles are amazing.
^ Funny story, I'm going to Norway, and the day before I get there the National Bank is playing in Oslo.

:(
What brings you to Norway? I lived in Oslo for 3 years.

As for my diggage:

Why? - Elephant Eyelash
Pavement - Wowee Zowee

Mattfanatic 02-16-2006 06:39 PM

this charming man

Zappa 02-16-2006 06:42 PM

Alex Drosen - Sit and Melt

Been a while.

Daniel! 02-16-2006 06:47 PM

Charge - Universal Tribe
Lion of Judah - Soul Power

I decided to randomly download 2 albums by bands that the hardcore forum was talking about. Suprisingly, both these bands totally kick a'ss.

Zmev 02-16-2006 07:03 PM

P.O.D. - Payable on Death

Dad's work.

Little Man being Erased 02-16-2006 07:56 PM

Kashmir - Zitilites

Thanks to Orb's mention.

Kurtz 02-16-2006 07:59 PM

88 Fingers Louie - Back on the Streets

Little Man being Erased 02-17-2006 04:01 AM

Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
Eminem - The Slim Shady LP
Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030

Yeah, so it was a rap/hip-hop car trip.

Then I listened to The Smiths' Meat is Murder.

Now I'm listening to Tom Waits' Swordfishtrombones.

OrbDragon 02-17-2006 06:44 AM

Gorillaz - Demon Days

The great thing about this album is that it has alot of fresh original ideas, yet the content of the music has this really old skool feel to it. When I heard "Dirty Harry" for the first time, Grandmaster Flash is the first thing that crossed my mind.

Little Man being Erased 02-17-2006 08:02 AM

I was listening to that the other day. Very enjoyable.

morrissey 02-17-2006 10:42 AM

I love Be so much

Zebra 02-17-2006 11:46 AM

Andrew Bird - The Mysterious Production of Eggs

The album is not very known, but it is amazing. I love the hard drumming and sharp violin line on 'Fake Palindromes.'

Glitterati 02-17-2006 12:11 PM

Syd Barrett - The Madcap Laughs
And some random Roxy Music

sketchyjoe 02-17-2006 04:46 PM

The Pogues - If I Should Fall From Grace With God

I forgot how amazing a songwriter Shane McGowan is. I love this album.

Dog 02-17-2006 05:03 PM

Eh, Everything Wrong is Imaginary is ok but nothing great. Maybe it'll grow on me.

The Embarrassment - Death Travels West
Nick Cave and the 'Seeds - The Good Son

Man, The Good Son is one of Cave's albums that I've totally underappreciated until now. I used to not dig it too much, but my past couple of go arounds with it have been really enjoyable.

Zmev 02-17-2006 05:05 PM

The Beatles - Revolver
Daft Punk - Discovery

br3ad_man 02-17-2006 05:55 PM

Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit

Pretty dissapointing.

The Good Son is a good album. I really like the song Lucy.

I'm into a bunch of old Black Sabbath today.

ATM 02-17-2006 08:22 PM

The Sea and Cake - Oui
Built to Spill - Keep It Like a Secret
Hot Chip - The Warning (very Kid-Aish)
Pants Yell! - Songs For Siblings
Lilys because Kurt Heasley is just a cool guy. I'm a fanboy I don't care. Everything they do is great.
I've heard Eccsame the Photon Band and the EP A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns and like them, and I'm trying to warm up to the rest of their discography. I wish they'd stick with one style.

Against Miik! 02-17-2006 09:07 PM

What have I been diggin lately? Well as far as stuff that i've just gotten into, I would say Death Cab and Guster. I went to go visit a school and my tour guide was totally into Guster and she raved about a concert that was there earlier this year, so I checked em out.

i am thw walrus 02-17-2006 09:22 PM

The Mountain Goats, and Johnny Thunders now.

Zebra 02-17-2006 10:29 PM
Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit

That's what I thought at first. Then I realized that I kept on making constant comparisons to previous albums and couldn't enjoy the music. Once I listened to the album without comparing it to the bands other albums it's actually pretty damned good.

Kurtz 02-18-2006 01:30 AM

Coldplay - X&Y

Oh my god, I never checked them out earlier, but I'm loving this. Holy crap.

Little Man being Erased 02-18-2006 04:17 AM

The Drones - Wait Long By the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By

Fuck yeah. Just picked this up today. A few songs into my first time through and it's fantastic.

Mr. Zizzle comes through with the goods again.

ATM 02-18-2006 09:25 AM

Is that the new one?

Oh wow. Wow wow wow. That album is SO BAD compared to the first two. But I think it's pretty bad objectively, too. You better listen to the other ones. Your standards are going to go up significantly.

Glitterati 02-18-2006 11:18 AM

^^^What he said. Kurtz, check out A Rush Of Blood To The Head.

Against Miik! 02-18-2006 12:24 PM

Or Parachutes, which was there best album. Basically, they've just gone downhill.

Kurtz 02-18-2006 12:48 PM

Alright, will do. Clocks and The Scientist were off A Rush of Blood, right? I like those ones too, and the only thing I remember from Parachutes was that Yellow song. But in general I'm reallyreallyreally liking Coldplay.

Sleeper 02-18-2006 12:58 PM

Lately i've been listening to:

Dredg-Catch Without Arms

I've heard lots of good things about this band since i've been on mx, I find Catch Without Arms to be more of a softer album than what they have previously released. My favorite tracks would have to be Not that Simple, Zebraskin, Planting Seeds.

Interpol-Turn on the Bright Lights

I was turned onto these guys from a freind of mine, I first heard there album Antics, i was pretty dissapointed with that album. Then i heard there other album Turn on the Bright Lights, and I absolutely love this album. Alot of the guitar work is pretty good, and i'm a big fan of linear style drumming. My favorite songs would have to be Obstacle 1, NYC, PDA, and Stella Was a Driver and She Was Always Down.

Hella-Hold Your Horse Is

This is a good band to listen to once in a while, I can't seem to listen to them over and over. I'm a big fan of Zach Hill's drumming in Hella, not to much in Team Sleep. The guitar work and drumming go together pretty well, some really good songs on this album. My favorites would have to be Biblical Violence, Cafeteria Bananas, and 1-800-Ghost-Dance.

Against Miik! 02-18-2006 01:00 PM

Everythings Not Lost is another good song off of Parachutes. Actually, the whole album is good too.

Huh, I didn't know he drummed it up in Team Sleep. I've only heard one Hella song, but that album is next in line for my To-Dig's of today. That one song was pleasant enough, at least from what little attention I paid to it.

I'm currently playing the self-titled album by Witchcraft. 'Tis a nice little Sabbath-y stoner rock joint that sounds like it time travelled to the present from the 70's.

The other day I dug The Go! Team for the first time. It was quite neat, but it kinda got old after several songs. But the diggin' was good while it lasted.

edit: oh wait, I have The Devil Isn't Red next in line, not that album... but close enough, yes?

Sleeper 02-18-2006 01:16 PM
Huh, I didn't know he drummed it up in Team Sleep.
Yes he plays with them, more synth drumming.

Robert Crumb 02-18-2006 01:39 PM

Sebadoh and the Geto Boys. I think I'm going to have to look into the Drones, compelling forces and all that.
