When I saw the title of the video, I thought I was going to be raged but it's actually not that bad. I still think James Blunt is a total cunt, though.

idiot pilot is ssweeet they sort of remind me of 65 days of static

Robert Crumb 08-21-2007 06:05 PM

Hey perriwinkle, how you doing, man? Are you getting enough fiber?

perriwinkle 08-21-2007 06:54 PM

sup mang im great, trying to keep the bowels moving smoothly. i've been starting with all my classes, which all seem pretty alright so far and i'm finally just about settled into my room. it's not bad at all. i just need to hang up these two posters and everything will be ennaice.

i just went to the record store today and got Gorillaz - G-Sides and The Ex - Dizzy Spells and some pins because i felt like my bag needs something on it. the coolest ones i found were Sebadoh, Jets to Brazil, and Television.

also i just got stocked on Cheerwine and Listerine. i am so set

Robert Crumb 08-21-2007 08:16 PM

Nice. I taped up a sweet Conan poster by this comic artist I met over the summer but it won't stay up. I don't want to stick it with thumbtacks, though. I don't get pins usually, but I'd probably consider buying a Television pin if I saw one.

Also, I'd never heard of Cheerwine until this very moment.

perriwinkle 08-21-2007 08:43 PM

jesus christ. like probably a lot of people (YDload i know for sure), when i'm into a song i want to play it. its even more fun to play different parts of a song together with someone. so i transcribed Mer du Japon into a guitar duet, with one part playing the synth and piano, and the other playing the bassline.

the kid across the hall plays guitar, but like.. he "plays guitar". when i first heard him play he played this eric clapton song real well and i was like cool he's alright, but then when we tried to jam i realized he couldn't do anything on guitar except replicate songs and progressions he had committed previously.

he asked if i wanted to play guitar and i was like sure i was just tabbing out this song, you want me to teach you a part to play over another? and hes like sure so i started out teaching him the intro bassline, since it's easier than the synth + piano part..

E-6-8--8-6-8--8-6-8--8-6-8--6-8-6--6-8-6--6-8-6--6-8-6--

and he spent like ten minutes stumbling around on the fretboard. its two ****ing notes. he gave up and went and called his girlfriend or something. it confounds me when people really just can't hear or sense rhythm or melody in the slightest bit.

YDload 08-21-2007 08:49 PM

sorry to hear that perriwinkle

if its any consolation to you, i totally figured out how to play the cool bassline in American Football's "I'll See You... Emotional" whatever its actually called

dei 08-21-2007 08:54 PM

I'll See You When We're Both Not So Emotional.

I love that album.

Glitterati 08-21-2007 08:55 PM

i only listen to nelly

Robert Crumb 08-21-2007 08:56 PM

My guitar only has three string right now. Seasick Steve is my hero.

dei 08-21-2007 08:57 PM

He did a track with Mike Kinsella.

Robert Crumb 08-21-2007 09:01 PM

I stumbled on the wikipedia article about him somehow. Seems like a good dude.

dei likes something?? whoa

it might still take a while for that album to grow on me. i was hoping it was more like Sharks Keep Moving but the vocals aren't as good. oh well at least the guitar holds up its end of the deal.

iarescientists 08-21-2007 09:07 PM

I want to listen to every Kinsella release ever
