25th Hour is sooooooo good. Then again anything with Ed Norton is gold.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 06-20-2006 01:55 PM

Lucky Number Sleven was really good.

Death To Smoochy?

But really, AHX was one of the best movies I've ever seen.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 06-20-2006 02:24 PM

I can't really explain it that well, but its basically about 2 assaisins killing people for revenge but it is really confusing. Very smart movie.

Hell yeah, Robin Williams was really good in that movie also.

cobert 06-20-2006 02:25 PM

I guess ill have tocheck it out. My dad also said it was intricate, and when he sat down to watch it he thought it was going to be corny, and it really wasnt.

cbmartinez 06-20-2006 02:25 PM

Death To Smoochy is ill.

When it comes to movies, Mel Brooks is the genius though.

whiteminority 06-20-2006 08:41 PM

Hell yeah man. The movie is dark but hilarious.

bottlerocket 06-20-2006 08:49 PM

Mel Brooks owns. So does Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

whiteminority 06-20-2006 08:54 PM

Two best Mel Brooks movies, History of the World Part I and Blazing Saddles.

cbmartinez 06-20-2006 08:56 PM

Blazing Saddles is amazing.

"Ayo, where the white women at?"

bottlerocket 06-20-2006 09:00 PM

I'll check it out.

I had the best burgers today...and they were from Wendy's. They were perfect.

-Gav

cobert 06-20-2006 09:04 PM

But Gav is just making that up, since he really never eats anything and just tasted really good air.

bottlerocket 06-20-2006 09:05 PM

I eat every once in a while. :(

I was mad high then...I got mad high again today, too, so I'm fairly stoned right now.

The only fast food place worth your time is Arbys.

Well that explains everything.

Ordering pizza >>>>> fast food.

This place near my house will deliver a lunch special called the 'bambino'. Its pretty much this little pizza (about the overall size of 2 slices) and it comes with a bottle of pop. Raddddd.

whiteminority 06-21-2006 12:33 AM

Fuck, Native Nod own. I'm ashamed more of you do not talk about them.

bottlerocket 06-21-2006 10:41 AM

AIRIC 06-21-2006 11:08 AM

/me NP Alexisonfire.

I seriously love this band.

whiteminority 06-21-2006 11:12 AM

The s/t is decent. The guitar work's pretty cool but George's voice gets annoying as hell. His delivery is so jagged and awkward.

AND EVERY
NO....TION....OF SELF....GOVERN.........MENT............WAS LEFT........BLEE................DING............ON..........THE........PITCH................ERS............MMMOOOOOOOUUUUUUNNNNDDDD!

It's just too awkward so I have to phase it out. They're alright, though.

AIRIC 06-21-2006 11:50 AM

Watch Out! was kind of disapointing but they have a great live show.

bottlerocket 06-21-2006 11:51 AM

Watch Out! sucked.

-Gav

cbmartinez 06-21-2006 11:52 AM

They always sucked hard.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 06-21-2006 12:01 PM

yes

Special Brew 06-21-2006 12:12 PM

So, couldn't emo also be called post-hardcore? I don't know exactly what makes a band post-hardcore, but from what I know, both genres seemed tie together at times.

whiteminority 06-21-2006 12:13 PM

Compare Hot Water Music to Heroin then ask yourself that same question.

bottlerocket 06-21-2006 12:26 PM

Watch Out was over produced. Stupid distorted vocals

I haven't listened to Hot Water Music in a long while, so I forgot what they sound like. Can someone define post-hardcore for me, and don't suggest wiki, because that's shit's too long and detailed.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 06-21-2006 01:18 PM
Watch Out was over produced. Stupid distorted vocals
Ya, it was over produxed. But the irony of the over production is that it was recorded in a basement.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 06-21-2006 01:21 PM

Its basically hardcore that is taken further and more experimental. There isn't a unique sound, but some elements are soft to loud dynamics. Its more than just the 3 simple power chords in a hardcore song. Some of it is close to emo, but there isn't a "definitive" band. The genre ranges from Hopesfall to Trophy Scars, from Thursday to The Fall of Troy. I don't know how well I explained but I hope it helps a little.

cobert 06-21-2006 01:28 PM
They always sucked hard.
siryessir.

BENNIFER: Native Nod are raddddddd. Tangled is my favorite song by them.

Post-hardcore and emo are kind of related. When people say post-hardcore is hardcore 'taken further', theyre right and everything, but it seems like if you asked somebody what emo was and they gave you that answer, it would still fit. Theyre both more 'out there' versions of hardcore.

Post-hardcore could simply be called progressive hardcore. Its a very broad genre. Like suggested, listen to Trophy Scars and Thursday, then try out Fugazi and Glassjaw. All different sounds in the same genre.

whiteminority 06-21-2006 01:28 PM

Think Fugazi.
