Pulp again.
I'm just getting into Pulp, they were so awesome.

Kurtz 02-15-2006 06:16 PM

Blur - Parklife

ert90 02-15-2006 06:18 PM

Hmm, first post . . .

I've been digging:

The Arcade Fire
Nick Drake
Iron & Wine
The Smiths
The Subways
Less Than Jake

Daniel! 02-15-2006 06:19 PM

I found a nifty mash-up type thing between the Beatles and the Beastie Boys that I'm enjoying. I probably won't listen to it more than one or two times though.

sketchyjoe 02-15-2006 06:21 PM

Phil Ochs

Particularly the albums I Ain't Marching Anymore and Tape From California

Dog 02-15-2006 07:17 PM

The Feelies - Crazy Rhythms -- Man, I love this album.

right now i'm listening to The Embarrassment - Heyday: 1979-1983 and it is GREAT. It's post punk that mixies the Feelies nervousness with the Replacements' kickassy...ness. Definitely worth checking out if your a fan of that 80's american underground sound.

Robert Crumb 02-15-2006 07:22 PM

My phone has been ringing all afternoon and I don't wanna answer it. So I've been drowning it out with the Kinks.

Happymeal 02-15-2006 07:25 PM

I've been playing Propagandhi, Jello Biafra and Melvins, and Streetlight Manifesto alllllll day.

Daniel! 02-15-2006 07:27 PM

Daniel Johnston - Retired Boxer

I'm downloading a bunch more of his stuff right now. I'm definatley going to check out the documentary on him when it comes out.

Gooood good good. This guy is ace. Be sure you get 1990 and Yip/Jump Music; my two personal favorites of his. I'm also anticipating the documentary.

The Replacements
Pavement

GZA
And I'm diggin the new FLips more than some of you seem to be.
I like it alot. I'm surprised about the negative feedback on it.

pixiesfanyo 02-15-2006 07:44 PM

Saul Williams has a way with words. I think everyone should check him out already.

Ornery Cephalopod 02-15-2006 08:00 PM

I've been addicted to putting on Blonde Redhead - Misery is a Butterfly before going beddie-bye lately.

I'm currently giving my first proper listen to the Pink Mountaintops at the moment. Dig.

And some other minor, partial-album digs of the recent past:

Yeti (yay, finally found some!)
Outkast - Aquemini
All Girl Summer Fun Band
Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus

Little Man being Erased 02-15-2006 08:02 PM

More Queens of the Stone Age. Now it's Songs for the Deaf.

asdf 02-15-2006 08:03 PM

Defiance, Ohio - Because I'm prepairing for the concert on friday
Sigur Ros - Because I'm prepairing for the concert on saturday
Estradasphere - Because I'm learning a song for my school's variety show.

Awesome. What song?

asdf 02-15-2006 08:06 PM
Awesome. What song?
The Transformation for the album "It's understood"

I just hope it works out. The rest of the musicians I'm playing with aren't as dedicated to it as me. We've got 3 weeks until tryouts, and we haven't even praticed together yet.

EonBlueApcolyps 02-15-2006 08:08 PM

Wu-Tang Clan
Sigur Ros
An Albatross

As far as the first two go, and Im sure its true with most of you, once you see a band live you listen to them much more.

Thats 100% fact. Happend to me after seeing GWAR. I wish I could join you in saying I saw the Clan, but they came and it was 21 and up.

I know a guy who calls them Anal Batross. Clever.

Happymeal 02-15-2006 09:26 PM

Now that^ is a cool band name.

biografiend 02-15-2006 11:30 PM

Maxine Darren.

A pretty cool 60's girlpop singer. My friend (who pretty much knows everything about 60's-70's girl pop and no wave) says that she is only 12 years old, which is pretty amazing and kindof creepy. She has an excellent voice. How Can I Hide It From My Heart? is an awesome song.

BillCosby 02-15-2006 11:42 PM

Femi Kuti - Africa Shrine

This is pretty cool so far.

Little Man being Erased 02-16-2006 12:55 AM

Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food
Gang of Four - Solid Gold

These two bands are becoming two of my favourites of all time.

ATC 02-16-2006 01:48 AM

Eyayuh Beluah- Sentum Ayechwalu (North African music) - It's incredibly unique and textured in a really cool way. Not the generic Moroccan-type music but more progressive.

Ismael Rivera - Vaca Lechere - Not a lot of people can write a salsa song about milking a cow and make it sound good.

sketchyjoe 02-16-2006 03:47 AM

Madeline - KIssing and Dancing
Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
Bob Dylan - Bringin' It All Back Home

Bartender 02-16-2006 05:33 AM
I hate that drone crap, it's just not cricket.
There is some good stuff in amongst there.

br3ad_man 02-16-2006 05:56 AM

Pretty much nothing but Maudlin of the Well. Bath is just so great.

penelope weird hands 02-16-2006 07:35 AM

The Frogs and The Mercury Program.

Tomahawk 02-16-2006 10:27 AM

I've listened to very little besides Crowded House for about a week now. Every album. They're becoming one of my favourite bands ever.

Also got in a few spins of the new Kate Bush album, it's really very good. Maybe my favourite album of hers.

Iai 02-16-2006 12:22 PM

The new Mogwai is very very good.

Now for the new Flips.

br3ad_man 02-16-2006 03:19 PM

I should order the new Mogwai soon.

Little Man being Erased 02-16-2006 03:20 PM

Lagwagon - Let's Talk About Feelings

And now, Radiohead - Hail to the Thief

OrbDragon 02-16-2006 03:29 PM

I'm digging:

The Kooks - Inside In And Inside Out
Annie - Anniemal
We Are Scientists - With Love And Squalor
Millionaire - Paradisiac
Kashmir - No Balance Palace

I really like the We Are Scientists record. I'm gonna see Kashmir tomorrow, really excited. If you haven't checked out their new album, you should right away!

pixiesfanyo 02-16-2006 03:30 PM

^ Funny story, I'm going to Norway, and the day before I get there the National Bank is playing in Oslo.

:(

OrbDragon 02-16-2006 03:32 PM

Norway is music heaven Europe right now...be sure to get alot of good records there. Motorpsycho's "Timothy's Monster" is one I really recommend.
I'm gonna see Kashmir tomorrow, really excited. If you haven't checked out their new album, you should right away!
