Finally someone who agrees with me on this.
I've been saying that for years! That cover blew me away when I heard it, I never knew Chuck had it in him. So what's this new Tool song you guys are talking about? I've been on vacation for a week, so I'm totally out of the loop. |
eighty-something chackra?
You might give your e-mail in the tool thread and they can help you. Or here if there are any Tool fans around. :shifty: |
If anyone wants 81st Chakra post your email. I've got a YSI link for it courtesy of Dunkelheit. :thumb:

I have only bought two Opeth albums, (first Damnation then recently Still Life because of being broke) and I can't even remember the order I DLed them in :upset: |
New music's always good.
Thanks :thumb: into.the.pandemonium@gmail.com
I've been saying that for years! That cover blew me away when I heard it, I never knew Chuck had it in him. I've only heard Death's cover of Painkiller, which was awesome. The instrumental's top-notch, but at the same time Chuck makes such a parody of Rob Halford's falsetto...that scream at the beginning cracks me up every time I hear it  |
Bleak has crappy clean vocals.
i nut on yo face In other news, I accidentally bid 17 dollars on the wrong item on Ebay. I was trying to get a brand new copy of the original Stupid Dream and somehow I bid on Coma Divine by accident....... I already have Coma Divine. I hope someone overbids me. |

Oopsie. |
In case anyone's interested. I've just written an interpretation of The Drapery Falls lyrics.
I personally think that the main jist of the song is that the narrator is being abused by his partner and he has gone into a dream where he escapes through death. I believe that he is staying with her because he wants the partner he used to know and love. Please remedy my confusion And thrust me back to the day He is basically saying here that he needs a release and is confused why it is happening to him. The silence of your seclusion Brings night into all you say I think that here, he is saying that everything that his partner says is caused by the seclusion that he is showing her. This is basically the idea that it is a vicious cycle. It started with his partner abusing him, which has lead to neglect and causing her to feel isolated hence 'seclusion.' Pull me down again And guide me into pain Here, i believe that he is saying that he is always being put down by his partner, which is guiding him to a pain at heart. I'm counting nocturnal hours Drowned visions in haunted sleep I believe that this is where his dream begins and he is beginning to think of a vision of death, possibly being drowned by his partner. Faint flickering of your powers Leaks out to show what you keep I think that this is explaining how bad he now realises his partner is. It is explaining this through th phrase, 'leaks out to show what you keep.' Pull me down again And guide me into This time he is dreaming of the fatal blow from his partner. I think that the 'Ah' symbolizes the plunge into death. There is failure inside This test I can't persist I believe that the scene is now at the narrator's funeral. He is saying that he has failed from saving himself from his undying love, which he knew was killing him. Kept back by the enigma No criterias demanded here This is basically him being baffled at why he has let himself endure what is happening to him. Deadly patterns made my wreath Prosperous in your ways This is him saying that he was killed in an unjust way and it has not been discovered that his partner was the killer. He is then saying that at his funeral she seems prosperous and not in the slightest bit sad. Pale ghost in the corner Pouring a caress on your shoulder He then discovers that his partner was never in love and sees a ghost of another man. He assumes that this is a past love whom his partner has never forgotten and still loves. Puzzled by shrewd innocence Runs a thick tide beneath Ushered into inner graves Nails bleeding from the struggle He finds himself puzzled by what he has just seen. He then finds his coffin in the ground and he knows that he needs to find out more. It is the end for the weak at heart Always the same This is the narrator talking about how he feels that the weak hearted (his partner) can not let old love go. A lullaby for the ones who've lost all Reeling inside He then starts to sympathize with his partner. My gleaming eye in your necklace reflects Stare of primal regrets He then starts to feel regretful towards the neglect that he's been giving to his partner ever since she started abusing him. You turn your back and you walk away Never again He then realizes that it is too late to try and heal what is happening and he vows that he will never let it happen again. Spiralling to the ground below Like Autumn leaves left in the wake to fade away He wakes up realizing that his experience of death was dream. Waking up to your sound again And lapse into the ways of misery He wake up to his partner and says that he is leaving her and they both leave in misery. Don't be too harsh, it's the first time that I've ever really written up a lyrical interpretation. |
VERY nice dude! I had no ideas what some of those lines ment, and you shed a lot of light on it! Keep it up man.

Those were some good ideas on the lyrics, matey. I like.
|
I wonder if you could connect that interpretation with some people's interpretation of Bleak as being about someone murdering their lover?
|
