Arguing with a metal head about life aspects that count for something is pointless and trivial.

I strongly disagree. |
Extremists in general suck.
|
Well, extremists, yea, but not all metalheads are like that.
|
Yes, I know.
|
to each his own i guess.i really do enjoy death.schuldiner was creative in his music.does anyone like arsis?
|
I couldn't get into Arsis. Or Death. Or Cynic.
I must fail. |
They are OK but too mainstream for this forum.
Death is too mainstream for my taste. |
arsis and cynic are both kiddie ****, and furthermore Arsis is -core.
Death however, were classic, up until Spiritual Healing. |
Yeah, the rest sucks for windmill headbanging.
|
I couldn't get into Arsis. Or Death. Or Cynic.
I must fail.
New Arsis is pretty meh. But check out their EP 'A Diamond for Disease' for some quality Melodic Death. and Cynic.. took me quite a few spins to get into because there is so much going on, but, jesus Focus is one of my favourite albums of all time.. so keep trying! |
cool!
thanks for your advices! i realized that if i have something in my head, i can pretty good write it down on guitar, if i take the time to do it. i think i just need to jam around more with myself, try out things and mess around more. most of the time i just practise my technique and songs... i hardly write own material. i should change this.
hahah don't worry mate. I am the opposite. I spend no time improving my technic on Electric guitar and learning songs and just jam and write stuff. I can't play half the stuff I have written lol! Its too hard! |
According to mr. Windmill Headbanging, if it has melody and isn't old school, it sucks.
|
Kacper, when writing stuff just write numerous different riffs in different keys and eventually you will start to see how some could come together.
|
yes, thanks i will do this.
yesterday i played something i thought i can't play: --------6 -----5 ---4 -3 strict alternate picking! not sweeping and it was fast... at least 120bpm or 130bpm :) the hardest song i've wrote is going something like this (alternate picking); triplets at 160bpm-180bpm (something inbetween) ---------------------------------------- ------------5----6---------------------- ------4---------------6----5-----4------ -333--333--333--333--333---6-5---6-5-3- nice isn't it? :D and afterwards its going: -----5-----6----------- ---4-----4---4-5------- -3----3----3-----3-6-5- hard as hell (for me); i still can't play it without being a little bit sloppy. edit: i'm not sure if its correct... i will check it out later... i have to visit a friend now. bye |
Arsis are an amazing band.
I've got their Diamond For Disease EP and it is some quality melo-death |
I forgot to plug in my mp3 player last night so this morning after realizing that the battery was dead, I grabbed my old tape walkman and a bunch of tapes. So now I'm sitting at my desk (working on a sunday blows) listening to a bunch of old stuff. Some death metal, some not so much. The tape that's currently playing definately is though.

Yeah same for me, except I can play everything I've written :p. There's been a few things I've wrote that I had to practice a bunch of times to get it right though. I stopped working on technique ages ago. I can play well enough; I'd rather make some material. |
Ok so right now I'm listening to some Trauma and I noticed something funny. On the song Blade Under Your Throat (from Imperfect Like a God) there is this weird backwards voice at the beginning. I've always thought that it was familiar but I never really gave it much thought. This morning I decided to reverse that section in Cool Edit and I finally realized why I know that voice. It's a clip of the android chick from the Terran Campaign in Starcraft, the one who explains all the missions during the briefings. I think I just realized I love this band even more than I did before.
|
I tend to write quite a lot of riffs but don't really string them together. Mostly generic widdling, chugging and poorly executed harmonics tbh.

That's nerdy to the max.
|
Yeah Berner, how dare you post anything mildly interesting or intellectual in the Brutal Death Metal Discussion Thread!
|
I didn't say there was anything wrong with it, I just said it was nerdy.
|
It's insulting that you bring nerdy conversation to this extremely serious thread, in that case!
Expect a ban for not taking Death Metal seriously! |
