I love both those albums :)
|
Is anyone here into M.I.A.? Arular was by far one of the best albums of last year and her diplo mixtape was pretty awesome. Can't wait to hear her new stuff.
|
Can anyone suggest stuff similar sounding to The Mouse and the Mask?
I have heaps of MF Doom, but none if it is a smooth and chilled as his stuff with Dangermouse. Any ideas?
Check out Vaudeville Villain if you haven't yet. His lyrics on that one are mind boggling. |
Nah its ok. I was thinking of buying that anyways but I was put off by Dry Your Eyes.
Dry Your Eyes is one of my favorite Streets songs.

Yeah I got that and Venemous Villain the other day, a really fresh set of tracks on both albums. I love Let Me Watch, fantastic song, and also Fall Back Titty Fat. |

|
I got a Black Indian CD for $.99 today. I got it because of his name, Black Indian.
|
MIA annoys the **** out of me.
|
That's because you're silly.
I like MIA but I have yet to get Arular. |
I just recently got my hands on Stones Throw's Chrome Children compy. It's pretty hit or miss so far.

Anyone know any similar songs to Scarface's "On My Block"? That tune is amazing.
|

I prefer don't mug yourself TBH or Never went to church. I liked MIA but can't find Arular anywhere. |

Yea, such an awesome song. I know I played too much Hey on the way, could you please pick up two dutch? |
MIA annoys the **** out of me.
 WTF... Why? |
I prefer don't mug yourself TBH or Never went to church.
I liked MIA but can't find Arular anywhere.
Blinded By the Lights has to be the best Streets song!
I know I played too much Hey on the way, could you please pick up two dutch?
Haha, just one of many classic lines in that song. |
Blinded By the Lights has to be the best Streets song!
Definately. It's what got me into them in the first place. The first time I heard that song it blew my mind. Empty Cans is pretty good as well. |
"Empty Cans" is the best Streets song.
|
Could somebody please upload some streets please?
Edit: oh **** wrong thread. but yeah blinded by the lights is an amazing song. i especially dig the drumbeat, and how towards the end of the song it adds in a symbol sound that just increases its coolness. |
I'll do it tonight bleep bloop. :)
It'll be A Grand Don't Come For Free, 'cause that's my favourite. |
many thanks.
|
I was walking home at like 3am, blasting GZA's Liquid Swords with my hood on, down a dark street, and I felt like a hardass.
That album ****ing rules way too much. |
Empty Cans is pretty great and Blinded By Lights is another of my favorite Streets songs.
Someone in my school kept singing that Young Jibb song, Chain Hang Low. That song is fairly terrible. |
I've heard Original Pirate Material and it really isn't as good as most people make it out to be.
|
You've heard A Grand Don't Come for Free, right?
|
I don't really care to hear it, if it's anything remotely similar to the first.
|
Well A Grand Don't Come for Free is their essential release, at least it is in my eyes. You should check it out if you get the chance.
However, if you don't like the first album, you probably just don't like the Streets, so don't go out of your way to hear it. |
I personally enjoy Original Pirate Material more, I feel it has the better and more awesome writing, such as on songs like The Irony of it Alland Turn the Page.
|
^ Yeah I agree with that. Although nowt beats fit but you know it. I could listen to that al day.
Np - RATM - Killing In The Name (polictal rap in the rap thread ) Any fans of Rage or am I gonna get a load of verbal now :) |
Np - RATM - Killing In The Name (polictal rap in the rap thread ) Any fans of Rage or am I gonna get a load of verbal now :)
Hmmm, I dig rage, but it ain't rap music. Rap music as a genre has distinct characteristics other than 'rapping', and I don't really think Rage fall under that blanket. Therefore not really an appropriate band for this thread.
With that said, Renegades pays tribute to many rap artists...I love that album. |
RATM used to be my favourite band a while ago. I still dig them from time to time. Pretty much all of their albums are solid.
But yeah, not really the right genre. |
RATM are almost as bad as Korn.

In a short while, a year or two, a dude named Papoose will probably make his major record label debut and assume the crown of silliest MC name in the biz. Truly, he is the one the scriptures speak of.
|
Whaaaaaaat?
My thoughts exactly. That Ernie has some crazy ideas. |
So I just heard the new Streets remix with Pete Doherty, I actually rather enjoyed it. Anyone else heard it? what do you think?
|

And to Kyle: I've never heard said remix.. Where'd you find it? |
I hear some kid say "Who is Juelz Santana?" today.
WHO IS JUELZ SANTANA? |
Isn't that Carlos Santana's son? If so, I've unfortunately seen him in concert....
