maco 01-20-2006 12:41 AM
You forgot to mention the fact that it was at the end of his cul-de-sac.
Pizza 01-21-2006 08:07 PM

ah i cant wait till the new album comes out. i need to see them live too! ahhh. i heard the album comes out in february too, but thats too far away

Liebensaft 01-21-2006 08:08 PM

Are we still talking about NoFX?

maco 01-21-2006 10:18 PM
ah i cant wait till the new album comes out. i need to see them live too! ahhh. i heard the album comes out in february too, but thats too far away
nope they decided to record another song so its not february anymore...that was a guesstimate before they recorded that other song....no new guesstimates yet

yay! im listening to Reiver's Music! I just put a new needle on my record player. I've never listened to any of my AFI records before. However, AFI wasn't the first thing I put on. I had to go "this is the song my band's covering!" and turn on the Specials.

That has to be fun.

For some reason, I can't get my record player to work.

nightbringer 01-22-2006 11:01 AM
if that's him, that's pretty nifty....if it's a faker...that's pretty mean
Its real, Jade posted the link on the DF boards himself.

*Continues listening to Pain of Salvation*

I'm addicted to that band atm ... and i only have one album >.>

yeah i just saw that the other night...apparently the reason Jade never posts on the AFI board is because he lost his password.

Gnarmageddon 01-22-2006 02:19 PM

Anyone like Son of Sam?

maco 01-22-2006 03:37 PM

yeah they're good...havent listened in a while though...i lent my neighbor the cd in october

Gnarmageddon 01-22-2006 03:40 PM

I just downloaded Songs From the Earth and I like it a lot.

Pizza 01-22-2006 04:39 PM

son of sam is great. i only found out about them like 2 months ago but now they are one of my favorites, i think they should do another album too. and that sucks that the new album's not coming out in february. now i have to wait longer! its already been almost 3 years!

maco 01-23-2006 11:28 AM

so apparently the AFI EP, even though it's a 7" is 33 RPM. it sounded really funny on 45

Pizza 01-24-2006 09:52 PM

do vynils sound about the same as cd's? i honestly havent heard a record player or anything

DaveToopes 01-24-2006 10:53 PM

Yes, they do. Some people say it's a warmer, crisper sound. I think that it's just personal preference though. I don't own any vinyl, so I haven't ever compared the two.

maco 01-25-2006 02:12 PM

Vinyl is capable of holding twice as much bass as a cd. I will attest to the fact that I definitely hear more bass on my records than on my cds (the vinyls sound like when you turn on bass boost on a cd...a little better actually...it's great for learning basslines). As well, cds burnt from mp3s are muddier than vinyl (and than bought-cds) because the encoding the computer does is not 100% precise.

Aside from that, putting a 33 RPM record on at 45 RPM is always a good laugh. Davey makes a good chipmunk.

Pizza 01-25-2006 03:18 PM

thats cool, i might start getting vinyls then. yeah davey probably would make a good chipmunk

Pizza 01-26-2006 03:32 PM

hey maco, do you have the link to the i want an official afi thread but my mom wont let me get one? i cant find it. and i dont think the 336 ep is still in print, but im not sure

maco 01-26-2006 05:55 PM

That is this thread. And 336 is out of print. There were 2500 pressed in each of 2 batches (ie. there are 5000 in existence). They can be found on eBay for $30-50.

Liebensaft 01-26-2006 06:17 PM

All the official threads had their name changed to the official (band name) thread.

Pizza 01-27-2006 03:34 PM

oh ok. has anyone heard anything of when the new album comes out?

Hep Kat 01-27-2006 03:44 PM

Pizza 01-30-2006 10:41 PM

well, i would say the misfits or tiger army, but you may already like them. i'm getting into the dillinger escape plan, horse the band, and sick of it all lately. i think sick of it all and afi are friends, so yeah.

What kinda stuff are you into to? I can't really help you with punk, but I've been checking out these recently

Pain of Salvation (Prog, but not on the overly solo-ish kinda level as Dream Theater. Remedy Lane is an awesome album with some very emotional vocal work and generally good song-writing).

Stream of Passion (I guess this would be called prog. Only actually heard this band yesterday. Amazing female vocalist, very haunting.)

VNV Nation (Electronic stuff ... I only have a few tracks as I'm awaiting one of their albums from Amazon but I've been hooked on what I have. AFI seem to like them as well).

maco 01-31-2006 02:07 PM

Go on interpunk and get Loose Change...it's Jade's old band's stuff

Hep Kat 01-31-2006 02:50 PM
Go on interpunk and get Loose Change...it's Jade's old band's stuff
Loose Change are okay.

Redemption 87, on the other hand, are horrible.

maco 01-31-2006 05:28 PM

hahah

my wingnut answer that showed up....i dont think it has man in a suitcase though

1/3 skilled 02-02-2006 07:45 PM

cool thanks for the bands...

Pizza 02-02-2006 10:25 PM

check out Folly if youre into hardcore, they have some great guitars and drums goin, just the singer is hard to get used to. its kinda ska too if you like that.

Pizza 02-10-2006 07:01 PM
