I'm listening to Midnight Log on Sandinista!. Kind of a rockabilly-ish song, very cool sounding.

This thread is like almost 1/3 of my total posts. Thats crazy.
I like the one with Joe and Johnny Cash best.
Yesterday I got a 2 disc johnny cash cd for 10$. One of the discs was live, too.

TheNowhereman42 03-14-2005 08:22 PM

I got a Trojan Box set for like 15 bucks at borders, i was amazed

Forest_Fire 03-14-2005 08:24 PM

which one?
Yesterday I got a 2 disc johnny cash cd for 10$. One of the discs was live, too.
I have no Johnny Cash cds, and he's my favorite artist of all time. Vinyl, bitches!

I may have to pick up Unearthed at some point, though.

TheNowhereman42 03-14-2005 08:31 PM

I have unearthed, its good

I can't acctually remember which Trojan set, I havn't listened to it yet cause I'm hooked on the AAA cd I got with it.

Forest_Fire 03-14-2005 08:35 PM

AAA, awesome. I'm starting my town's first ska-core band over spring break. right now it's just a bass (me) and a sax. but it will get better...

and uhh... on topic... does anyone know where i can find a picture of the joe strummer memorial painting?

AndreTheHyena 03-14-2005 08:38 PM

You could just take a screenshot from the video.

guns_of_brixton 03-14-2005 09:03 PM

I wasn't able to find any pictures, so taking a screenshot from the video is your best bet.

TheNowhereman42 03-14-2005 09:22 PM

are the 101ers any good?

CombatRock 03-14-2005 09:24 PM

only things i have heard by them is on westway to the world..

there just like an old rock band thats basically it

guns_of_brixton 03-14-2005 09:29 PM

There's about 15 seconds worth of a 101ers song in Westway. It sounded pretty cool.

CombatRock 03-14-2005 09:34 PM

i saw this cool pic thing..it was a graffti work of joe strummer and in the back ground was green yellow red..it looked preety sweet

guns_of_brixton 03-14-2005 09:35 PM

Lets just say they're definetely better than the album-that-must-not-be-named :D.

TheNowhereman42 03-14-2005 09:40 PM

Cut the Crap?

guns_of_brixton 03-14-2005 09:42 PM
Cut the Crap?
Shhhhh, children are listening! :D

But to answer your question, yes.

TheNowhereman42 03-14-2005 09:42 PM

never heard it lol

guns_of_brixton 03-14-2005 09:47 PM
never heard it lol

It never existed... But on Westway at the special features where it shows the discography and plays a song from each album, the song they had on there sounded like and over-produced piece of crap. Blame it on Chimes.

TheNowhereman42 03-14-2005 09:51 PM

aah

Coma_Girl 03-14-2005 10:00 PM

yeah lets blame 'the lamborghini guy' for the album-that-must-not-be-named and for everything that ever went wrong with the clash!(if there's any beside the album-that-must-not-be-named)

IMONXTC 03-14-2005 10:07 PM

side 6 of sandinista was pretty bad but at least it had real drums. i always leave "the 6th clash album" out of my discography listing. and bernie rhodes is responsible for the glorious beginning and miserable ending of the only band that matters; terry chimes just sucks.

guns_of_brixton 03-14-2005 10:12 PM

Sometimes I wonder if he actually ever got a Lamborghini. I hope not .

IMONXTC 03-14-2005 10:18 PM

i hope he got one and then crashed it. fucker. by the way can someone help me with soulseek...it wont let me register without making a donation.
I dodn't like most songs off Combat Rock either
Topper was still with the band when they recorded Combat Rock. I like it alot, and I think its awesome how it starts with "This is a public service announcement... with guitaaaaars!"

sketchyjoe 03-15-2005 10:55 AM

Chimes played on The Clash. He can't be that bad.

On Cut The Crap it was only Simonon and Strummer with 3 other guys.

I found this sort of ironic

One of those 3 other guys was Chimes. Another was named Nick Shepperd or something.

And we're putting it into the gin supply
We want a satellite crashing outta the skies
And a firework display by ballistic missiles

i want more lyrics by joe :upset: i think ive read them all

(working on my meskies profil)

TheNowhereman42 03-15-2005 10:07 PM

I think its a bad album with a few great songs, eg. Know Your Rights

guns_of_brixton 03-15-2005 10:11 PM
I think its a bad album with a few great songs, eg. Know Your Rights
I don't like it when people judge the Clash by that album, just because it had some hit singles. Somebody in Westway said that it was the beginning of the end.

And to Andy, keep up the good work :thumb:.

straight to hell is great great great!

You wanna play mind-crazed banjo
On the druggy-drag ragtime U.S.A.?
In Parkland International
Hah! Junkiedom U.S.A.
Where procaine proves the purest rock man groove

King Solomon he never lived round here!

I need a life.
