Kerry indeed.

Bazarov 10-17-2005 04:55 PM
If you could take away one member from the band who would it be...for Me kerry no problem.
Hmm that is hard. I guess Kerry as well, Jeff's guitar work appeals more to me. But it's like Metallica with no Lars. Lars isn't that great at drums, but it just wouldn't be the same seeing Metallica without Lars, as it wouldn't be the same seeing Slayer without Kerry. That's probably how people felt about Slayer when Dave left.

I remember reading an interview and Kerry said that once they brought back Dave more people started showing up to their shows than when Paul was their drummer. Something along those lines.

But yeah, I'd remove Kerry.
If you could take away one member from the band who would it be...for Me kerry no problem.
Musically you probably could, but Slayer just wouldn't be the same without seeing KK on stage. He's gotta be the meanest looking guitarist on the planet. I'd have to say Dave, as he's been taken away before and the band did fine without him. Not that I would want to take him away, but the other 3 are irreplaceable.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 05:18 PM

Now I think about maybe you could remove Dave because, guitarist have a large inportance to the band...they distinguish them selves from other guitarists. I guess you could remove Dave.

Yeah but Dave is great at drums, and Kerry isn't so great at guitar, and King is a dick. But yeah most people pay most attention to either guitarists or singers.

kerry is pretty damn good at guitar, jeff is without a dought better but by no means i kerry a bad guitarist. and dave is purly amazing at drums, oh tom was rated #1 bassist in some pole that i saw. this is almost a supergroup.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 06:46 PM

The only problem I have with kerry is when you compare him to Jeff, he makes Kerry look like a idiot, Oh in my opinion Kerry is not a good lyricist at all, jeff IMO is a under rated lyricist, angel of death lyrics are awesome.

whatduffhuck7 10-17-2005 06:48 PM

yea i like jeffs songs much more than kerry's

I haven't heard what Slayer's been doing after the 2004 Ozzfest. Does anybody know when they are going to record and/or tour again?

They're recording right now, and their CD should be released in Feb.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 08:48 PM

I know, feb pfft, they should do a acoustic track. I bet it would be awesome.

Bazarov 10-17-2005 08:49 PM

That would be odd. Though the acoustic part of Seasons in the Abyss is pretty nice.

Great. I hope they tour soon after.

I'm sure they will. That's how they got most of their fame, is just non-stop touring and getting their name and music out there. Plus the past 2 years or so they've been really active with touring. They had Ozzfest, the Download Festival and the Jägermeister Tour.

yeah, they are extremely motivated seeing as how long they have been around.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 08:56 PM

Man they should come to Washington not much bands come here. Good ones at least.

metalmilitia101 10-17-2005 09:41 PM

washington state? i thought there was a lot of music in seattle? i don't know, never been up your neck of the woods.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 09:51 PM

its really popular in clubs because of the whole grunge thing started there, but...it's mostly just like alot of indie music, not heavy stuff like slayer.

Simply incredible man...I love that.

I think without KK it wouldn't be slayer...but then again that's a guitarist
for yea

Yes I agree. I think King's a good guitarist, but not as good as others. Sometimes I tend to over-exaggerate about him being not so good of a guitarist because I think he's an asshole.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 10:37 PM

The big notcie I see between Jeff and Kerry is Kerry hangs out on the wammy bar more then jeff does.

EDIT: I just listend to angel of death, Dave hold the double bass fill for 6.5 seconds (I added the .5 for fun lol)

Bazarov 10-17-2005 10:39 PM

Yeah Kerry loves to use the whammy bar. Nothing wrong with that. When I mess around with solos I like to use it a lot as well.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 10:41 PM

Oh forgot to ask you butcher, when you recorded die by the sword what apm were you using and what guitar?

Jackson_Guitarist 10-17-2005 10:41 PM

I love masterbating the whammy bar.

I used on the shortboard I got with it, I set in on Green Metal.

playguitar 10-17-2005 10:53 PM

Bastoph or Lombardo? I prefer Lombardo myself.

Bazarov 10-17-2005 10:55 PM

Bostaph is a great drummer, and has really good drumming on Divine Intervention, but because I mainly just listen to older Slayer, I prefer Lombardo.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 10:57 PM

Dave...by far hes amazing just listen to angel of death he's awesome. Hes really fast and also plays rather clean. Like joey jordison he can player super fast but is really sloppy.

EDIT:congrats on brother play guitar.

 I remember when my older bro lived with me and the family, all the times I followed him around, messed with his stuff, annoyed him. Good times. I'm sure you'll have fun being an older brother.

Nostalgia 10-17-2005 11:04 PM

Man theres only like 3 people that post in here regulary me butcher and bitten. Oh and metal militia, I like it with this small of comunnity

Apocalyptic Raids 10-18-2005 08:47 AM

I prefer Lombardo simply because he plays on better albums.

Hell yeah, aren't those amps bad@$$ or what?

I bought one a month and a half ago and I won't play through any other amp. (except for maybe a marshall jcm 800 but you know what I mean.)

I tried playing killing fields on that amp and it sounded great.

Jesus Saves sounds the best on the line 6 spiderII though.

Yeah it's a pretty nice amp. A big upgrade from what I used to have (10 watt yamaha). But I know very little about amps, halfstacks, heads that kind of stuff.

Wow, I can now count 2 more festival/tour things Slayers done over the past 2 years: France's Fury Fest and Sweden's Hultsfred Festival. I'm starting to think that even though Kerry thinks that they won't tour anymore when they get to be 60, I think they probably might do one or two. Hopefully Dave, Kerry, Jeff, and Tom would be able to still play really fast and such.

Has anyone heard this drum solo by Dave?
