I have decided to get my butt in..........

this last week has sucked, and nothing has happened here other than Wintermute Becomin mod, which you probably have known about longer than me...

I'd like to propose a toast.......

To bad weeks, and better ones ahead!*clink*

(Dont worry, I'll be up in an hour.....)

Radiobass81 07-25-2004 12:33 PM

Ah, I forgot to mention my tennis practices were canceled because of rain, too...

cods 07-25-2004 12:37 PM

:(.

*hugs LR*

my great great aunt died yesterday. :(. she was 94.

Jim Hull 07-25-2004 12:41 PM

Sorry to hear that :(

Well, last night I was at work at a supermarket and it was under 18s night at our local night club  Well, they stole two trolleys and started to 'play' with them. So me and my boss had to go out and get them. She was very calm and collected and I was the heavy muscle there in case it got ugly (6,1 and 270 pound rugby player) :thumb: Well I had to forcefully remove two of them. It was GREAT!!!!!

LightRaven 07-25-2004 12:47 PM
She prolly left again :)
Think that's something to smile about?

JamminOnMyGstring 07-25-2004 12:49 PM

I also haven't been here in a week or so, but I wasn't cleaning my house or having horrible problems at work...

I was relaxing at the Ocean Isle Beach (not to brag or rub it in LR) getting a desperately needed tan. However it was with the parents and so I couldn't get drunk and party like I wanted to, but oh well-I got away from work and away from my psycho ex-gf..

..and now I'm playing bass for the first time in a week, **** it feels good

LightRaven 07-25-2004 12:49 PM

New Casual thread is up.. take it there. :)

ebe9 07-25-2004 12:52 PM

sorry to hear that cods.

Sunday: played bass, studies for an exam

Monday: had folks jump on me for not studying enough, studied, studied, studied

Tuesday: decided that if it was ment to be i would pass, played bass, studied

Wednesday: wrote the god forsaken exam, chatted to lecture about getting it marked asap so that i could register for the second part of the course (got special permission to do a third major i.e. this)

Thursday: saw my girlfriend (yay) just relaxed abnd shot the sh1t. she went off to pipe band in the evening (she plays the bagpipes) i went to see what was happening with the song festival deal at university and what my res/dayhouse was doing.

Friday: started hunting for jobs online since i now have my degree, need to get some work experience and money for trip to canada at the end of the year (i live in South Africa) (hopefully the canadians approve my visa)

Saturday: spent the day in my dads garage doing metal work and making a knife (skindoo to be exact, small dagger like blade that fits into the pulled up sock) first attempt was unsuccesful, the welding i did to join the steel handle part together cause the steel to warp.

Sunday: continued with the knife project and finished it 1X skindoo which looks most proffesional (will posta pic if people want), been doing some more job browsing otherwise that has been my week.

Misc: played bass eveyday (guess that goes without saying) and passes the blessed exam (go me)

HaVIC5 07-25-2004 12:52 PM

I have an unholy amount of work for the International Baccalaureate program I'm entering next year in school, so I basically have to be working from now until school starts on summer work. And I have (no exaggeration) seven essays, and a book to be read between now and the end of the month, because my teachers decide that making us turn in stuff in the middle of the summer is perfectly kosher (which is clearly isn't).

Sorry, just bitching. Don't mind me.

sanray 07-25-2004 12:58 PM

spent almost everyday at work and when i didn't I played my bass
I work six hour days which isn't bad but I'm 17 dam it
and I 'm lazy as hell that's why i complain

PaulSimonon 07-25-2004 12:59 PM

sorry about your colleague LR, I played a song in honor

I'd like to propose another toast,

To lost voices!*clink*

Radiobass81 07-25-2004 01:00 PM

^^ Don't be ungrateful. Atleast you have a job...

EDIT: To sanray.

Havic.. you need to throw that book at one of your teacher's heads! Thats crap man.. sorry.

Cods *hug* I'm sorry sweetie. How are you doing?

Wintermute is a mod... well... I didn't know that it happened until today.. but knew it was GOING to happen. Congrats wintermute!

Seems everyone is having crappy weeks. I hope the next is better.. but it doesn't look to good for me...

*lays down and dies*

Radiobass81 07-25-2004 01:04 PM

It's not that we have had a crappy week, its just that the only experiences we remember are bad ones. Its like when you meet someone, you remember the stupid things that person did but you dont remember the good ones....

she has been in the "active stages of dying" for awhile(as the doctor put it), so we knew it was coming.

JamminOnMyGstring 07-25-2004 01:08 PM

I say we just all light one up, pass it around, sit back, and watch the comedy channel.

I babysat on Thursday. The kids are nice, but because they're so young (3 and 19 months), they're sort of uncontrollable. The thre year old is easy...I can stick her in the baby swing and she's happy once I push her a bit. My 19 month old is a different story...he wanders. And he's clumsy. The two DO NOT mix. He ended up tripping on twigs to many times to count. And he bumped his head on the playstructure. It's a good thing he's easy to calm down, all you have to do is ask him to find a truck (make sure he doesn't try to catch it). He's a trooper. The three year old loves to throw sand at me. I don't know why. She just does. I try to stop her from throwing it, but being 3, she isn't very good at retaining information. My shoes are now miniature sandbox's, and my eye's make scratchy noises when I blink. When I sneeze it's like gooey sandpaper is running out of my nostrils. And I have sand in my hair. anyone with long hair knows that sandy hair sucks.

Yesterday was better. I had some friends over, then we went to my friends house and chilled. Today we might go miniputting.

Earlier today, I mowed some lawns around my neighborhood for some pocket money. I spent 2 hours mowing 2 lawns(front and back), and earned a total of $16 dollars. I'm tired.

Ruhtra 07-25-2004 01:59 PM

****, seems like a lot of people just had sucky weeks. :(

My week was uneventful/bad. Uneventful because I had no one to play music with, therefore I sat at home and played bass alone all week. Bad because I have yet to hear from a girl I like(it's been 4 weeks, either she's really busy or it's time to say "To hell with it" and wait until college to bother with girls again) and my best friend keeps roughing himself up mentally, just a lot of bad stuff has happened to him the last couple of weeks. :(

So let's brighten the mood up. *turns on a light*

>_> *rimshot*

<_< *is shot*

Kandyman 07-25-2004 02:36 PM

*hugs for all who had a bad week*

My week wasn't too bad. On monday I was supposed to take a tips training class so I can serve alcohol for concerts at the amphitheater in the area. No one told us it got cancelled three weeks earlier, oh well.

Tuesday, I had to do contingency training. It wasn't bad except for the fact that it was hot as hell. First time I got to erect a hardback shelter though.

Wednesday, got told I had to have a job done by Friday so that our painters could come in Monday and paint the walls. I was supposed to have help, but the guy they gave me is a lazy *** who outranks me. Needless to say I was doing everything.

Thursday, went in to try and finish these walls and got told I have to attend a radio training class. So another day down the drain. Was told that my job was taken care of though. So one less thing to worry about.

Friday, took a much needed day off, kind of. I still had to wake up early to take one of my housemates to work and then to take his driving test. Which he failed by two points. We're still giving him grief about that.

Now I'm cleaning my room just like LR.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 07-25-2004 02:37 PM

my weeks are golden, this weekend was my day off, i spent the week completing my new band, and chatting with my future classmates at UoC. great week :D

Kandyman 07-25-2004 02:40 PM

Oh yeah, another good thing. Someone finally responded to my ad in the classified section. I may have me a band soon. And the good thing is that they want melodic basslines.

Edit: I own page two, sweet.

JBJ 07-25-2004 02:42 PM

finished defretting the bass and i really like the way it sounds.

lpu2007 07-25-2004 02:55 PM

Man I did almost nothing this week. On Tuesday I had sectionals for the Marching Band (I'm in the low brass section). On Friday I went to see Catwoman with my friend the only think that makes that movie worth seeing is Hallie Berry in the leather outfit. :naughty: Those are basically the two things I did this week. I hope next week is less boring than this one was.

mr_coffeekiller 07-25-2004 03:05 PM

Lightraven... I'm starting to resent the fact that all you do now is make these threads. This is a bass forum and you're the authoritive figure. What do you say in the rules about spam? This is spam nomatter how you view it. Yes, I did post in the first one but the constant threads "woo hoo, come on in" as if it's some kind of blessing are wearing a little thin.

It wouldn't be so bad if there was proper contribution from you. a lesson or 2 maybe? Especially about what's involved in music a college... a lot of people would find that helpful and interesting.

And 1 more thing. What happened to the Bass CD? was nice to leave us (me) hanging on that one

And just so this isn't off topic  I got my nose burst today when I was training today. After that, my friend worked me till I spewed. Twas quite the experience

jazzfunkboy 07-25-2004 03:20 PM

i finished painting my house this week, so im getting paid.

if i order a badass 2 bridge im going to have to wait for it to arrive :upset:
then i have to put it on
then i have to go to a music store and get the frets shaved, leveled, crowned.
then i have to buy strings.

after that i should have a kickass bass. :thumb:

if i dont im giving it up.

Sade 07-25-2004 03:40 PM

I agree with Coffee....

I worked today, cooking for people, like-500?

**** patrons and their ****edness

Anyone in here ever come home from work, feel like bassing, and can't-cause you're to tired and your hands are cracked and bleeding from feeding the masses for low pay? :-(

jazzfunkboy 07-25-2004 04:51 PM

i just ordered me badass 2! YAY!

*listens to "used to be a cha-cha"*

It would be nice if she did make a couple other threads other than these, but I like being able to just talk to everyone here about other things. I don't like the pit because frankly, they annoy me. Everyone in there thinks that they are the most clever people ever to use a computer.
