I'm copying my copy of Headless Cross onto my computer as I type.
Its fun. And I'm pretty sure they smacked an under-water effect on Tony's guitar on Sabbra Cadabra. |
Is headless cross any good?
I only have "Black Sabbath,Paranoid,Master Of Reality,Volume 4," I sort of lost interest after those (I have live evil aswell..) Any other albums I should check out? |
Get the rest of the Ozzy-era albums (Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabotage, Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die!) then if you've got Live Evil I recommend getting Heaven and Hell + Mob Rules (They have Dio on vocals like on Live Evil)
The albums after those I've not heard much of, Headless Cross has Tony Martin on vocals and in some parts he kinda sounds live Dio, his voice suits the music well. I'm about halfway through the copy (I'm copying from vinyl) and its pretty good so far, well worth buying. |

That front cover is awesome. |
I think its Never Say Die!
Very good album, the last one with Ozzy on vocals. |
Awesome,
what would you say the best is? My favourite is Black Sabbath, such a varied sellection of songs, I bloody love the wizard. |
I don't think their is a 'best' album by the band, everyone has a different opinion.
The majority of people say the best albums are the first 3 (BS, Paranoid and Master...) then Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. They seem to forget every other album that Black Sabbath have done. Highlighted the band name because most people think anything after Ozzy-era isn't Sabbath, when it is. Anyway, enough of my ranting, it wasn't aimed at you Mr.I am Jimmy Page, the album that I think is the best is either Volume 4 or Never Say Die! from the Ozzy-era, Heaven and Hell from the Dio-era and I haven't heard enough from the post-Dio-era to say anything about that time. But Headless Cross is currently kicking some big arse, even if a few songs sound a bit typical 80's/early 90's rock. |

Both songs are fantastic :thumb:
Tomorrow's Dream is another fav. from Vol.4. |
The first line reminds me of Planet Caravan, but its not that song. Is it an Ozzy-era song? Also, I've listened to about half of Headless Cross and its a pretty good album, Tony Martins voice is pretty good, kinda like Dio's in some places. The song Headless Cross has a great riff.
Released October 1, 1981 its on the mob rules album |
Volume 4 does indeed rock,
but I still think "Black Sabbath" has lost no intensity, and the songs off it are all very fresh and have aged well. |
did you catch wat i said brum
|
Released October 1, 1981
its on the mob rules album
I'll try and have it figured out by the end of the night. |
cool
i heard it at my friends house and made him keep playin it so i could get the lyrics |

Not that I dislike it, I'm just a bit tired with it. And I second your opinion on both albums, they're great. The Wizard is nice, as you said, but I think Black Sabbath is a bit better. And Vol.4... Snowblind rules, together with Under the Sun and Cornucopia. |
course black sabbath(album) rulz
everybody likes paranoid because they started giving them to you when you buy a house right? |
cough*
|
anybody know the name of the group that did some black sabbath songs on midevil instruments and sung in latin? or where i could find a copy?
|
I know this...
*is thinking very hard* *minutes pass* This is beginning to annoy me now *thinks some more* ...
st. vitus' dance. (~if you havent gotten it, i havent read any further~) |
I've just gotten Past Lives. Great Album except Iron Man, Black Sabbath, NIB, Behind the Wall of Sleep and Faires Wear Boots have the worst quality ive ever heard. I can hardly make out Ozzy's voice in Black Sabbath. btw Brum I would add you but unfortunatley I don't have broadband.
I thought he went in 1988? Car crash? I'm not 100% sure.
It was 1998 in a car crash. Just checked Joe Sieglers site. |
any body got new lyrics *looks at brum*
O.K. this is kinda easy. "Now the whole wide world was movin' 'cause there's iron in my heart I just cant keep from cryin' 'cause you say we've got to part sorrow grips my voice as i stand here all alone and watch you slowly take away a love i've never known" |

ignore that question. but, for those whom aswell are curious, it was 'sabbatum' by rondellus. |
I was at best buy with my parents today and I saw my mom's basket with the Black Sabbath box set. Man am I happy.
I like 'War Pigs' a lot. The more I've listened to Black Sabbath lately, I've noticed that they sound a lot like Led Zeppelin. Has anyone ever noticed that or am I crazy?
Monti
Ya they do, one reason is they're both british heavy metal |
Ya the do, one reason is they're both british heavy metal
Led Zeppelin isn't metal. |

British metal is metal... |
The led is metal, they just have more blues roots than others

They are only classic semi-hard rock with blues guitar. |

yea i like led but sabbath is metal not led |
semi-hard rock with blues guitar? Zep is pretty heavy. I think the only song they has blues guitar is since i've been loving you. enough of this, it's a sabbath thread
