Isnt Malcolm a midget too?
Midget eh?
hahaha, maybe short but not a "midget".

Marty 04-29-2005 11:55 AM
g & a(except on highway to hell) are almost always used in power chords. i saw an interveiw with angus saying he sometimes uses full chords, but power chords have more balls.

*edit* im not sure about malcom though, your probably right.
hmm i dunno man, play an open G chord and then play the power chord. Open sounds like its got more balls to me..but meh as if it matters :chug:

Ballsack_AC/DC69 04-29-2005 12:08 PM

Well, inless you have the same guitar and the same setup as Angus you can't really tell which chord (open or power) has more balls. While it may not sound good to you it could sound great to him.

JonG 04-29-2005 12:28 PM
Hey ac/dc are a great band. They have one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived in Angus Young. Just watch him live especially on the Stiff Upper Lip DVD and u will see what i mean. Their songs are very catchy but they are also very good at entertaining the crowd and their fans. Without ac/dc rock wouldn't be what it is today. They can prove that it doesn't matter if u are the greatest at woteva u do as long as u can tie it all together with the rest of the band.
They also get old after listening to them 5 times.

maddog87 04-29-2005 01:07 PM
They also get old after listening to them 5 times.
maybe if you listen to the same song over and over again.

KRASH 04-29-2005 02:50 PM

yeah!

im learning to play parts of Back in Black right now

Quagmire 222 04-29-2005 02:54 PM

I agree 100%.

My buddies and I have discussed this a lot - the bass and drums have to be the easiest music to play in rock and roll.

The only song that is slightly complex is Thunderstruck, and that's only on the guitar.

Don't get me wrong, I love AC/DC, but still...Phil Rudd's basic Kick Snare Kick Snare gets old FAST.

AB/CD 04-29-2005 05:41 PM

but thats all AC/DC need a basic drum beat and a simple bass line then some solos and lyrics the songs ae catchy not complex they just wanna make good sounding music not to outdo every other guitarist living they didnt aim to become one of the biggest rock bands ever it just happened all they wanted was to play their music

tere not tecnical, and they dont need to in order to be sucessful

bluefire 04-29-2005 10:56 PM

i don't think its about how much skill a band has, its how the music is written and ac/dc must have done it right to have this many followers 30 years on

Brewer14 04-29-2005 11:48 PM

I sometimes wish Rudd or Williams would do something different, but it doesnt take away from the music.

Ulysses 04-30-2005 01:29 AM

The emphasis in AC/DC's music is the guitars and vocals not the drums and if you listen to it with this factor in mind, the same simple drum beat doesn't really get old, the heavy simple riffs, soloing and bon scott's vocals are enough to get me firing. If you want a different beat, complexity with cross-rhythms and drum soloing their are plenty of other bands out there to explore that emphasise the drums to a greater extent in their music.

rippa32 04-30-2005 03:22 AM

I agree, rather than bashing accadaccas simplicity go listen to something more complex.

ACDCFreak09 04-30-2005 10:48 AM

I Dunno

AMEN

I say AC/DC is one of the best bands and that they actually got us into the whole blues/rock mix. The way they mixed Buddy Holly and put some power chords into it is amazing. true it is repetitave but a lot of bands are. Many of their songs are a little boring but the solos are amazing.

AB/CD 04-30-2005 01:27 PM
tere not tecnical, and they dont need to in order to be sucessful
i didnt say they were technical

maddog87 04-30-2005 07:05 PM
i didnt say they were technical
i didnt say you did. i was just making a statement.sorry if it came out that way.i was agreeing with you

It does. For the chorus of "You Shook Me All Night Long," it gets old pretty fast.

lunar_crest1991 05-01-2005 02:35 PM

oh ya!

angusvsslash52 05-01-2005 02:38 PM
It does. For the chorus of "You Shook Me All Night Long," it gets old pretty fast.
O well, whatever works.

AB/CD 05-01-2005 04:54 PM

they may get repetitive with the stuff they write bt u no who cares its good catchy simplistic rock

Ulysses 05-02-2005 01:35 AM

This simplicity issue has been raised in every page of this thread, it has all been discussed before, gets slightly annoying after a while.

highwaychild377 05-02-2005 01:53 AM

i cant belive this thread is still alive. im not going to post anything though, cause im sure everythings been said in more than 50 pages and if it hasnt, then everyone who has posted in here is a chump (including me for not thinking of it).

highwaychild377 05-02-2005 01:56 AM

:lol:i just realized the complete irony of my post.

Ulysses 05-02-2005 03:39 AM

Intriguing, you don't gain much respect by doing this sort of posting. There are always facts that haven't come up previously.

rippa32 05-02-2005 06:41 AM

Is there anybody here who's favourite band is AC/DC? Mine used to be but now I cant think of a favourite.

AB/CD 05-02-2005 11:40 AM

they be my fave band

i am the robots 05-02-2005 12:49 PM
just let me say in advance that a lot of people will probably disagree with me on this but im kind of hypocritical on this so here i go....

AC/DC is a good band in the sense that they play catchy tunes that you can hear for the first time and sing along to or tap your foot to. but.... Thats because there songs a simple but good. AC/DC isnt all that great of musicians they've won people over simplicity and catchyness
They were good when they had one album out, but then they re-released it a bunch of times.

maddog87 05-02-2005 02:18 PM

does anyone other than me actually play ACDC??(INTROS DO NOT COUNT!!!!)

Brewer14 05-02-2005 02:56 PM
does anyone other than me actually play ACDC??(INTROS DO NOT COUNT!!!!)
I'm assuming you mean on guitar, and yes, I do.

growl666 05-02-2005 02:58 PM

i hate acdc, just becuase all these stupid little 11 year old ****s think they're so cool cause they listen to them. they're a poser band now.

Brewer14 05-02-2005 03:22 PM
i hate acdc, just becuase all these stupid little 11 year old ****s think they're so cool cause they listen to them. they're a poser band now.
So you hate them because "11 year old ****s think theyre cool because they listen to them?"

Thats a dumb reason.

TheDMV 05-02-2005 03:33 PM

Because psers listen to them it makes you a poser to like them.

Not very logical.

rippa32 05-03-2005 06:04 AM

Yes in fact if you go through this thread there is alot of bitching about posers done by real fans.

Bon_Scottie 05-03-2005 08:01 AM
