you're my hero

Man, I can't wait for 9/20... it can't come soon enough. I just recently got into Coheed and Cambria, after my cousin Jake thrust The Second Stage Turbine Blade at me and told me I had to buy it. I had no reservations, already having established a liking of Co&Ca based on "Devil in Jersey City", "Favor House Atlantic", and that first time someone played the song "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3" for me. So I bought it and loved it. And then I bought In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 and loved it. And then I heard "Welcome Home" and I couldn't wait for the new one to come out.

Currently, Co&Ca are on heavy rotation in my CD player (more than Radiohead, even), and are having a profound impact on my songwriting, especially lyrically. Co&Ca are an amazing band, and have helped restore my faith in modern music.

Glee!

thisistj 08-21-2005 10:28 PM

yeah, im really anticipating 9/20 as well.

Let's Chop Cats! 08-21-2005 10:39 PM

It's not my fault really.Anything out of the megapopular is impossible to buy where I live.

I've heard Welcome Home tons of times now, and it hasn't gotten old. Very good song :smoke:

The Willing Well sounds so...so...funny sorta, it's all happy go lucky bouncy stuff and it's like "You'll burn in hell while they're digging you out" It made me chuckle. The last part is a little repetitive though...

Wake up, as soon as it started I suddenly thought of The Light & The Glass. I'm not really liking this one though, it sounds like Counting Crows....

I was expecting more of the Welcome Home type of thing with their new stuff :upset: I hope those two songs are the only mellow based songs.

Hi people.

Im back for today only nuccas, my computer had a big power surge and it fried my motherboard.

Did anyone else notice the suffering sounds alot like three evils? The chorus sounds just like "Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops".

DepthsOfDreams555 08-23-2005 01:39 PM

Ya I noticed that and they have the cheers from Blood Red Summer.

True Coheed fans already have this  . But thanks anyway man.

Spectrum 08-23-2005 07:40 PM

What is everybody's opinion of which is better: The Second Stage Turbine Blade, or In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3?

Gnarmageddon 08-23-2005 07:41 PM

It's hard for me to say. Both have a lot of songs that I like, but if I had to pick one, I'd say IKSOSE: 3.

DepthsOfDreams555 08-23-2005 07:50 PM

I realize that they do but someone who isn't a big Coheed fan wanted it so I uploaded it for them. I like Second Stage Turbine Blade better but not by a lot just by a little.

Spectrum 08-23-2005 07:54 PM

The debut had this great energy about it, really catchy songs and a pretty great flow, but IKSSE:3 had a lot of superior songcrafting and a higher production value. However, despite really raw (and sometimes graphic) lyrics on tracks such as "Cuts Marked in the March of Men" and "Three Evils" and tracks like "Velourium Campier III: Al the Killer", it still has a kinda restrained feel to it... it's really a hard fight. "Devil in Jersey City" and "Neverender", and the jams on "Time Consumer" are some of my favorite Coheed songs and moments... as are "IKSSE:3", "The Crowing" and the total fun of "Favor House Atlantic"... overall, though, it's pretty much a tie, but if I was forced to choose, I guess I'd have to go with In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3.

Gnarmageddon 08-23-2005 07:56 PM

Quick question that someone should know.

Since SSTB = 2, IKSOSE: 3 = 3 (obviously), and the upcoming release = 4, was the Penelope EP considered the first in the series?

Spectrum 08-23-2005 07:57 PM

I'm pretty sure that's a "no". I'm fairly certain Claudio has said part 1 isn't written yet... and the Penelope EP was when they were Shabutie, right? It's almost like ATD-I and TMV; some of one became the other, but they're not the same.

Gnarmageddon 08-23-2005 07:59 PM

Yeah, it was done when they were Shabutie. I was never sure about the order.

Spectrum 08-23-2005 07:59 PM

And, besides, it would have a reference to the number one in the title. You silly... person!
