do you want to go and see megadeth?

Paranoidd 11-29-2004 03:12 PM
Do you think that they're still the greatest band in the world? Between 1995 and 2000, I'd probably agree, but I don't think there's any denying that their last 2 albums have been good, rather than great.
Kid A and OK Computer were nothing short of brilliant. Amnesiac was still great to me, and HTTT was probably their weakest since Pablo Honey, but it still had its moments. It's purely subjective and not something I could justify, it is strictly my opinion. I could pick a band based on raw technical talent, or based on something else, but to me, I think nobody is able to consistently innovate and produce the same type of product as radiohead. I just hope they don't do any more political BS.

At least once a week, there is a band or artist passing through Toronto that I'd love to see, however my bank account has a problem with that. I'd check out megadeth if I wasn't broke.

What do you think of RHCP, P.

I didn't like their last album at all, but previous records are thoroughly enjoyable.

Not since saturday night.

Radiohead are one of the only non metal bands that i like
the smiths and oasis and the manic street preachers being the others

Paranoidd 11-29-2004 03:22 PM
They've always been quite political, haven't they? Some of the lyrics on OK Computer are highly political stuff (well, in Thom Yorke's typically oblique way), and he's pretty active in local Oxford politics. Apart from the rather bad title of the last album, which Thom says doesn't directly refer to the election of President Bush, are they really becoming more political? I met Thom by the way.

*remembers what you think of being random* ;)
Thom Yorke is full of BS if he said that. I have him on CD saying that during the recording of the album he became "obsessed with the fact that one man could cause so many people such a great amount of pain." He can deny it all he wants, it's about Bush.

I prefer the OK computer sociological type commentary to some of the other stuff. Kid A is probably still my favorite, though.

Oic.

I like the last one quite a lot.

Mothers milk is my favorite, OHM also being beastly.

As much as they are my favorite band, I'm going off BSSM and californication.

Paranoidd 11-29-2004 03:30 PM

I think Frusciante is a great player, it's unfortunate I don't enjoy his solo stuff at all.

angry armadillo 11-29-2004 03:33 PM

Word. One of my favorite guitarists, and I play bass!
I find his solo work to be hit and miss.

Check out "ramparts" I think it's really good example of his playing.
I suppose you are at work now, but if you use soulseek add "MofoFoSho" and you can download it from me :)

Do you think NPC will close this before it gets to a 1000?

Paranoidd 11-29-2004 03:40 PM
Do you think NPC will close this before it gets to a 1000?
I think he'll probably close it on or after 1000. Perhaps he considers it a valid thread...he's left Humor's open too.

Maybe he appreciates guys named Rob.

Strum 11-29-2004 03:43 PM

I'm pretty sure he's straight.

But you never know when it comes to the NPC.

Paranoidd 11-29-2004 03:49 PM

I didn't mean he was homogay.

Maybe he just realizes all guys named Rob kick arse.

Paranoidd 11-29-2004 04:34 PM

There are some nu-metal bands I can tolerate at certain times for certain reasons (ie, I have a friend who is a big Korn fan, and I don't mind Silveras drumming, so I just block everything else out when he plays them). SOAD and Deftones I guess would be the only "nu-metal" I like, and care enough about to follow/buy or download albums. I'm not the type of person so completely disregard a whole genre, I can usually find at least one band I like from any genre. Nu-metal just generally doesn't appeal to me, although there may be the rare song or band that I like.

I strongly dislike Linkin Park though.

Have you even bothered to see if Toydolls2 is unbanned?
