my opinion on the whole thing is that its already solo career cos david ellefson an a the others left then like nobody from the actual studio album of TSHF is on the tour apart from dave (obviously) so its already solo career plus he had to keep the name megadeth couldnt change it to dave mustaine for TSHF i remember him saying something about it in like November or something on bruce dickinsons rock show

Lord Abortion 01-02-2005 01:37 PM

I love five magics
megadeth in a power metal type lyrical theme??

xtreme_skatah 01-02-2005 07:22 PM

Does anyone know why Dave hired Chris Poland to play lead in TSHF? Cus wasn't he pissed with him for stealing their instruments fro drug money? What made Dave change his mind to hire him

ForiegnPenguin 01-02-2005 07:24 PM

I guess he put that all aside because he needed a good guitarist and Marty Friedman didn't want to join.

MAthiAS 01-02-2005 09:57 PM

Yeah, Friedman said no.

Yeah, after he somewhat based the lyrics of Liar on him, one wonders why Dave would want Chris Poland back. Because lets face it, those are some pretty nasty lyrics.

Dave has said that the only reason TSHF is a Megadeth album is because his contract made it to be or something, but that's the last one. But then he's also said "I wanted people to say that this last album was Megadeth's best" so I don't really know where he stands with it.

Po0sH 01-03-2005 03:28 AM

Well, I thought Chris Poland's leads were plain horrible. TSHF could have been a much better album than it is (don't get me wrong, I still like it a lot) if Chris put more effort into the leads.

acefrehleyjendell 01-03-2005 05:29 AM

i've always considered Poland to be a better lead player than Dave.
But TSHF's best solo's all belong to Dave.

AB/CD 01-03-2005 06:31 AM

the reason dave hired poland is cos they r friends now they both get on with each other they apologised and aload of other ****

Burdcheese 01-03-2005 06:33 AM

Excellent - a happy ending

AB/CD 01-03-2005 08:07 PM

i was thinking but does any1 think that maybe dave is gonna quit after this tour cos from whats happened to him over the past few years i think hes gonna get really stressed like really badly stressed

RiceMonster 01-03-2005 08:55 PM

I may be wrong, but I think this is his last tour with Megadeth.

xtreme_skatah 01-03-2005 10:15 PM

What do you guys reckon is the best solo in TSHF. I reckon Kick the Chair has the best. When Dave starts the solo, everything just flows.

Freezing Moon 01-03-2005 11:27 PM
I may be wrong, but I think this is his last tour with Megadeth.
It is as far as I know.
What do you guys reckon is the best solo in TSHF. I reckon Kick the Chair has the best. When Dave starts the solo, everything just flows.
I'd have to agree. I think that's a great solo. As to Mustaine's lead work being better than Poland's on TSHF I couldn't agree more. I was pretty suprised. I thought it would be the other way around.

ThrashMaster27 01-04-2005 01:27 AM

Daves offically said that this is the last year he's gonna be touring under the Megadeth name. Apparently when the US tour finishes it's over to Europe, Japan and Australia, then back to the US for a 'Victory' lap.

Polands solos are different *I* think is because he's been out of Metal for so long, so his Metal solos have turned more Jazz styled. That aside, I do prefer Mustaines solos to Polands on TSHF.

acefrehleyjendell 01-04-2005 01:49 AM

Dave must really come to OZ or i'll kick him in the head lol. ummm no, i will be
really upset, i have loved Megadeth for about 12 years and i've never been
able to see them outta all the times they've come out.

oh and all the people in my crap hick town are all calling them 'Da Deff, wtf
is up with that???? and they only know TSHF.

ThrashMaster27 01-04-2005 02:37 AM

"Megadeth plans on doing the Euro/UK tour as you know, then tentatively to Japan and Oz, and hopefully South America, to be finished with one last victory lap of the states this summer."

That's from Daves own mouth.

acefrehleyjendell 01-04-2005 02:58 AM

^ really??

where was it posted? or was it on radio or tv???

Burdcheese 01-04-2005 04:04 AM

Wow - I'm so glad I'm finally seeing them if they're going to stop touring all together.
Sad news - but it means the show should be pretty spectacular

DisposableHeroes 01-04-2005 04:28 AM

I was thinking of seeing them on the extra London date, which would make it two nights in a row i would be seeing them. I'll talk to my dad

acefrehleyjendell 01-04-2005 04:42 AM

yeah i'm gonna get my ticket as soon as it goes on sale lol.

AB/CD 01-04-2005 08:33 AM

the shows r jsut gonna be basic just like the rude awakening 1 probably anyway ya no cos thats all they do basic shows they dont need fancy stuff to put on a good show cant wait a whole 2 days less of a month and i get to see them

acefrehleyjendell 01-04-2005 08:44 AM

^ Yeah well you could say that about a few bands lol.
I actually like fancyness lol, as my favourite band is KISS.
i don't know when the OZ tix are going on sale because they haven't even
made an announcment yet. I hope they play an arena or something so i
can actually go to it. I'll scream if they play 18+ clubs lol, and like a couple of
months short of my 18th birthday lol.

Burdcheese 01-04-2005 10:24 AM

I didn't mean anything fancy - just a powerful performance, as they're on their farewell tour as it were

Isaacsass89 01-09-2005 01:09 PM

The megadeth website isnt always right...call the venue and ask to make sure its 16 and up. I went to the show in New York, which said 16 and up on the site, but was actually all ages.
