To respond to what you said about Joey: Listen to Nick Barker, he is a much better drummer. I would reccomend buying the new Dimmu Borgir CD to show his true talent.
To respond to what you said about Corey: His lyrics are mediocre. Listen to Iowa (just read the lyrics to the song "Disasterpiece") and you will see what I mean. Some of his works just arent that great.
there are few people that can surpass joeys talents on the drums ... and i can tell you that its not some faggot from dimmu borgir (although i admit their drummer is GREAT) ... scott travis of racer x, and possibly Brann Dailor of Mastodon and Danny Carey of Tool are some of the few that are as great as joey |
When is the re-release of MFKR?
i heard that they may not do it because not enough people wanted it ... and ive heard many rumors about slipknot breaking up so stone sour can go full time .. and some that theyre gonna break up after the next album ... and some that say that they arent gonna quit until they make like at least 2 more albums ... these are some of the rumors that are confusing me, and pissing me off ... does anyone know what theyre really doing???!!!???!!!¿  |

Muderdolls should just stop. They are a waste of time for Joey Jordison. Joey should just focus on Slipknot 100%. |

The only 'side project' that's really worth anything is Stone Sour. The Murderdolls are a joke, and although I've not heard To My Surprise, I can't say they've made an impact anywhere. |
yea i dont like murderdolls, they should just stop. i like some stone sour but i wouldnt mind if they stopped also and every1 in slipknot just focuses on slipknot.
|

Well it's not like they aren't focusing on Slipknot. When they are with Slipknot, they aren't doing anything BUT Slipknot. When they go back with Stone Sour, it will be Stone Sour. |
You guys sure about that? Look in the booklets. I'm almost 100% cure that it said Jim is the lead. I remember it because I was surpriesed when I found out.
mick is lead i know for sure, theres a site on slipknot that says what each member does and it says micks lead.i thought mick did all the solos from someone who said jim did all the crazy solos, but i guess they both do lead parts, but i know on iowa mick did the lead parts such as the very beginning of iowa and that tapping part of surfacing.i know both of those things cause i have the disasterpeices dvd. |

Mick and Jim switch off, both of them are lead. It just depends when they are doing it. |
Is it just me or should the bassist of stayed with his old style..I'm not flaming him or n e thing ..but when I hear his stuff now or even the stuff as early as their self-titled, it's easy. I'm not the best bassist nor do I claim to be almighty..but I can learn a slipknot song VERY easily ....were are all the riffs from mate, feed, kill repeat?...the crazy slapping solos and stuff..maybe it was just an effort to make the music heavier but I don't think the guys gets the credit he deserves as a bassist given the current things he has written...well hope this turns on a few lights on in a couple peoples head..later :amaze:

does anyone know if they are playing (sic) on tour??????

Agreed, anything off Iowa, Self titled or the subliminal verses isn't even worth learning. It's just not hard enough to be of any value to anyone. I haven't heard much of M.F.K.R so I can't really comment on that but is it possible their bassist back then wasn't Paul but some other guy? Paul is just your typical guitarist trying to play a bass (complete with pick) I can't imagine him possessing any slap skills. I'm not slamming your post merely raising a question... Anyone got any information about this? |

They played (sic) live on my Disasterpieces DVD so I assume they perform it at their other concerts aswell. Not making any promises but I'm pretty sure they do... |
Hey Maggots, dont make me bust out my 666 on your hottopic ass

His reasoning behind it is that he wants to lay down solid rhythm, and doesn't need or want to show off. |
Yea, I mean if people want to play a bass with a pick then they should. They shouldn't just drop the pick and try to act cool.
|
Yea, I mean if people want to play a bass with a pick then they should. They shouldn't just drop the pick and try to act cool.
The pick is for a more pingy sound. The pick is neccissary for songs like for the blink182 sound, but if you want a heavier sound or funk, then you should deffinately use your fingers. :thumb: |

Amen :thumb: , but it is still there. You just gotta have superhuman ears. |
In M.F.K.R Paul does a ton of sweet bass lines that are very easy to hear. Some songs that really show off his talent are "Do Nothing/Bitchslap" and "Confessions".

Indeed. MFKR is the album to listen to for good Slipknot bass. You can hear more of the bass in Volume 3 too, but it's not as good. On Iowa and the self-titled album, really, the bass is almost nonexistant. |
I was talking with my bass teacher bout y the bass is so hard to hear and he said its cuz with the drums being so loud and stuff that they drop down the volume on the bass so it doesnt sound like ****
