If anyone has Stratovarius' Visions could they hit me up on Aim? I don't have the money to buy it unfortunately...

And what other Stratovarius would you guys recommend, I already have Episode.

Kafkastolemyslippers 03-20-2005 04:13 PM

If I can get a hold of my friend, I could get Visions from him.

evil ernie 03-20-2005 11:29 PM

@ mathias : I would suggest Destiny.

I have to buy Kamelot - The Black Halo
Anyone heard it already?

and maiden are not power metal

Jon 03-21-2005 07:11 AM

Iced Earth would get a mention if Mr Schaffer wrote a second song.

Iron Maiden are as power metal as Martin Luther King was black.

I'm personally of the opinion that "Nightfall in Middle-Earth is overrated somewhat, probably due to the subject matter. I'd rank it behind "A Night At The Opera", "Imaginations From The Other Side", and "Live" at least, and maybe "Battalions of Fear". You should pick up "Live" if you're wanting to get into Blind Guardian. As the name implies it's a live album, and it has a nice mix of songs. And, at least in my opinion, several of the live songs are superior to their original versions.

CaptainWaits 03-21-2005 10:43 PM

i didn't find "Night at the Opera" good at all. Blind Guardian is kind of an unconsistent band IMO

I like 'em... really D+D !

I think BG albums grow on you. At first you might not be impressed but soon you find yourself whispering a particular line of a song, you give the album another chance and that's it! This is how BG become one of my favourite bands ever.

Phreaky_One 03-23-2005 11:38 AM

does anybody know of any good tabs for bass?

There's actually a friend of mine whom I introduced to Blind Guardian last fall. Now, he's really into them. The both of us have on several occasisons sung passages of The Soulforged out loud in public.

Sounds like a friend of mine. Few things can rival the joy of wandering the streets at 2:00AM singing 'Mirror Mirror' really loudly. Especially when shirtless, but that’s another story.

Anywho, the BG albums really grew on me too. When I first got NIME I liked it, but I thought most of the songs sounded bland and bored me, now it's my favorite album. I hated ANATO when I first got it, but the most I listened to it, the more it grew on me, and now it's one of my favorite albums. I still think it sounds a little... processed, though. But still good.

I agree. I didn't like BG at first when I heard them. I hate to say it but, I didn't like Hansi! Now he's one of my favorite singers.

Hitroshimite: I love your avatar.

Does anyone have Running Wild's new album, Rogues En Vogue? I've heard good things about it, but haven't gotten it yet.

Arucard 03-25-2005 01:48 PM

I got Symphony X - The ****ation Game today. Alot more straight up Power than their other albums, alot less progressive.

That's true. I still haven't gotten around to finding this album, but I've sampled much of it

Arucard 03-25-2005 02:46 PM

Good album though. Nothing beats The Oddysey though.

I actually don't really like that album. It's more metal and less progressive/classical than their other works.

It’s the only Symphony X album I have though. I want Divine Wings ****it!
