Overkill: Final Judgment

Up to here, I had heard some overkill songs, (hello from the gutter) but I never got the right feeling from them. I like thrash that is dark, satanic, dark, fast, dark, and heavy. Perfect examples are:
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Possessed - Seven Churches
Slayer - RiB
Kreator - Pleasure To Kill
hell even Cannibal Corpse - Eaten Back To Life is thrashy enough :p
etc etc etc, so yesterday I got 2 overkill songs - Frankenstein and Horrorscope. Frankenstien gave me the same feeling as HFTG or alot of Anthrax songs - even though it's an instrumental, it was just too light-hearted and humourous. Now Horrorscope was much gloomier and heavier, but it was too slow to catch my attention.

Final Judgment: Overkill is a musically talented band, but not my type of thrash. :thumb:

Frank Bello :'(

Have anyone heard the bad news about Frank Bello leaving Anthrax?

He has been with the band for about 20years and its a shame to see him go but on the plus side u never know they may get Newstead and that would kick ***! :D

sacrifice93.2 03-04-2004 01:53 PM
has anyone here got bonded by blood by exodus ive heard 2 tracks fromit and it sounds ace but i cant get hold of it, is it rare or the sites im looking on just crap
I own it. It's an awesome album. They're no Anthrax, but who is? (other than the great ones themselves) Hey Dargon! I'm liking the new avatar.

Corporal Compendia 03-04-2004 02:03 PM

There is such love for Anthrax here... I never really liked Anthrax myself. I like some stuff anyways... Who cares that Bello is gone, losing Lilker was the worst thing to ever happen to them. :P

****, this **** site... I keep getting that server is busy message. It's driving me nuts.

Ratmevilempire 03-04-2004 03:19 PM

I didnt hear that Bello left yet, and that server thing is pissin me off too.Oh and ManuscriptReplica good job spendin time to put that list together, i dunno what it'll be used for though.

JMetallica 03-05-2004 04:29 AM

he hit his mouse button about twice:p

Yeah, Anthrax have turned to garbage. I agree with the Corporal, if liker was in Anthrax in the 80's... Anthrax + Nuclear Assault = Some kind of superhuman band ... That would have been awesome! :D:D

Overkill are the best kind of thrash Dargon! I am dissapointed *shakes head* :p

Nar... you like what you like dude. :thrash:

Girl-Playing-Bass 03-05-2004 01:22 PM

that's cool. Even though that seeing slayer makes me unable to see Testament-Anthrax-Exodus who are going to be playing on Graspop festival.
But I just can't afford it. And i really need to see slayer.

wow i hope all those bands come to england i would really love to see testament and anthrax, exodus i probably wouldnt see to be honest bcauz i havent heard that much by them. But i can understand how u must feel not being able to see all those bands :upset:

Girl-Playing-Bass 03-05-2004 01:37 PM

yeah pretty bad.
But we all gotta make sacrifices right?

I really can't handle money (I spend it really easy) so now I dont have enough money to see em.. and to be honest I can just shoot myself for having spend money I could have used to see some great bands.

Well at least Im gonna go to two festivals (Arrow rock, and Dynamo open Air)... maybe I'll go to Graspop next year.

*sigh* not having a job sucks. :(

LordDargon 03-05-2004 01:39 PM

^ Huh?

I dont really care about anthrax, as I always say,
Bay Area Thrash >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> New York Hardcore/Thrash (anthrax, overkill, DRI is new york aren't they?)

Girl-Playing-Bass 03-05-2004 01:41 PM

yeah LordDargon, but I for one like Anthrax and I really hate the fact that im not going to be able to see em

DimebagDarrell 03-05-2004 01:42 PM

im going into my life savings to see 'tallica yes not having a job sucks

Corporal Compendia 03-05-2004 01:48 PM

DRI rules... they made a lot of the other thrash bands sound like wimps when they first started, but I believe they're from Texas.
Speaking of DRI though, who likes Crossover then? Like.. Cryptic Slaughter, Wehrmacht, Corrosion of Conformity(Pre-Blind), etc... I love this style.

Girl-Playing-Bass 03-05-2004 01:50 PM

I think we all know wich Slayer album I love the most? ;)

LordDargon 03-05-2004 01:52 PM

Mine status used to be RiB - it ****ing slays.

and I haven't actually heard any DRI I put them there becuase I thought they were from new york. Guess not though. :/

JMetallica 03-05-2004 09:56 PM

Show No Mercy is obviously their greatest accomplishment of all time.

manuscriptreplica 03-05-2004 11:19 PM
im going into my life savings to see 'tallica yes not having a job sucks
as if anyone spends their life savings for metallica!!! they arent really that great live.

best slayer album: show no mercy probably, for the one reason: the antichrist :thumb: but i like listening to reign in blood more lately (bus trip to TAFE takes 30 mins - perfect length!!)

TheUnforgiven 03-06-2004 12:02 AM

Seasons In The Abyss, then Show No Mercy.
