The single for it is really bad. I'm probably not going to buy it, there's stacks of Flaming Lips records I don't own yet and I lean more towards liking their older stuff better anyway.
I just hope they tour Australia. |

No waiz you saw Iggy Pop this year. Today I'm digging a good dose of Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, and Minor Threat. Furious hardcore punk ftw. |
and "Invocation"
Truth. Forgot about that. Such an awesome intro. Billy Bragg - Talking With the Taxman about Poetry I can't get enough folk and country music at the moment. |
I think it's really funny that the singer of Kayo Dot loved Ween when he was little.
(in response to the ween talking) |
I'm pretty bummed that I don't like the new 'Lips album.
Television - Adventure Calvin Johnson - Before The Dream Faded T. Rex - Electric Warrior and right now it's Destroyer - Rubies (thanks asymm, this is good stuff)
Robert Pollard - From a Compound Eye I've really been digging this since its release. Rather than trying to emulate the past or aim for radio play, Pollard just went and threw together a mix of some damn good songs.
Yeah, solid album. |
Mykill Miers (the Hitchcock of Hip-Hop) - The Second Coming
This is a rap album I've had for a long time, but never heard anything about. It's got great beats. I'm digging it today. Also on the playlist today was Rembrant Pussyhorse by Butthole Surfers and Neu!'s self-titled. |
I think it's really funny that the singer of Kayo Dot loved Ween when he was little.
(in response to the ween talking)
In other weird musicians-who-like-other-musicians news: the lead singer of Dillinger Escape Plan hardly likes any heavy music at all. His favorite bands are My Bloody Valentine and The Dresden Dolls :amaze: Also, what I'm diggin: The Fall of Troy- Doppleganger This really isn't that bad, just because it's not as good as the S/T and has a few inferior remixes of songs from that first album. "Act One, Scene One" is a great song, especially the sudden appearance of some Justin Timberlake-style vocals for a verse. I dunno how to explain it, but it's really not that bad of an album. Also: Dinosaur Jr.- "Thumb" This is still an amazing song, so hopeless yet beautiful, with a great outro solo. |

They were supporting for some shitty band Greeley Estates. It was a great moment watching at least half of all the attendees leave before they even got onstage (I was one of them :) ). |
Silver Jews have been pumpin' on my stereo.
|
Just finished digging ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Worlds Apart. It might not be quite as good as Source Tags and Codes, but it's still excellent.
About to start listening to some Bright Eyes. |
Listening to Strung Out right now, always good.
Chucked on Modey Lemon - Thunder + Lightning couple hours ago, it's still fun to listen to. Like Whirlwind Heat, Stooges and G-funk Railroad all exploding together. wooooooooo |
Neutral Milk Hotel and Hum. And Swervedriver. QOTSA also. Joy Divison fits in there too.
|
I'm really liking the new leaks (Flaming Lips, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grandaddy, ect ect.) and The Veronicas.
|

ewww, gross. australian too. |
Ry Cooder - Chavez Ravine
Thrice - The Illusion of Safety |
Chavez Ravine is a great, great album. Seeing him live was so cool. Mad props pixiesfan
|
Joy Division - Closer
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot I'm really starting to love Wilco. |
Yeah they really are a great band. I find YHF a tad overrated though, but then again A Ghost is Born is my favourite.
|
Ted Leo - Tell Balgeary, Balgury is Dead
The alternate versions of songs released elsewhere are average, but I love the other songs. Jamie Lidell - Multiply This was in the mailing list, I'm really diggin' it a lot. And I'm diggin the new FLips more than some of you seem to be. |
Yeah they really are a great band. I find YHF a tad overrated though, but then again A Ghost is Born is my favourite.
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is currently the only Wilco album I own, so I have no basis for comparison, but I really enjoy it. Eventually I'll get into the others too. |
Royksopp - the understainding
|
Radiohead - OK Computer
Black Mountain - Black Mountain Haven't listened to Black Mountain in quite a while. Pretty good album though. |
ewww, gross.
australian too.
Hmm, I like them, they're like a fun version of Kelly Clarkson. Maybe it's just that they pwn most of the stuff on the radio I have to listen to at work for hours on end. This cool epic psych prog metalcore band added my on myspace. You guys might like them. I only listened to one song, but yeah, it was good. www.mysapce.com/clerickill I'm listening to maudlin now. Birth Pains of Astral Projection is one of the best songs ever. |
Chavez Ravine is a great, great album. Seeing him live was so cool. Mad props pixiesfan
It must've been. I've been casually digging Chavez for a few months now, after a recommendation. It seems like it is a slow grower in my case, because originally I thought it was just a good album, but now I'm understanding why alot of people I know said it was their favorite release of '05. Today I'm digging Cyne's - Evolution Fight. I think I talked about it before, but it's some really solid rap. Great words, great production, and great messages. If you want a sample download Haze. |
I'm seeing wilco in march I think.
I've been digging envy and some kodan armada. |
Yo, Wilco is coming to my SCHOOL!
|
Weird choices for me so far today...
Earth - Hex: Or Printing in the Infernal Method Sunn 0))) - Black One |
MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
Sleater Kinney - The Woods Both slightly disappointing, in their own ways. I've also been listening, and re-listening, and re-listening, to A Night on the Town With the Rat Pack. For a cheap, less than serious-looking release, it's so ridiculously good. |
Yo, Wilco is coming to my SCHOOL!
The only band that came to my school was some disney boy band in 4th grade. =( |
The only band that came to my school was some disney boy band in 4th grade. =(
Moffits? JonM: :chug: As for me, I've been digging: The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free Egyptian Lover - On the Nile (funniest thing ever) |
Weird choices for me so far today...
Earth - Hex: Or Printing in the Infernal Method Sunn 0))) - Black One
I thought you were staunch anti-metal? |
Pulp again.
|
Pulp, Black Mountain, Dylan, Radiohead, Wilco... such good stuff Little Man.
Today (well all 1 hour that I've been awake) has so far been dedicated to the Dean Martin collection I found on my floor. Good. |
Thanks Tangy, I do like good stuff don't I.
|
I thought you were staunch anti-metal?
Haha, no no no. I'm definitely not against metal. I don't listen to it very often so it might've seemed that way. This droning stuff is barely metal anyway. |
