Nah, they don't mess with Sordo because they don't have any RIAA-affiliated music.

Well, down here at Blueser57 fm, our most played artist by far, as always, is Anathema. 90s rock heavywieghts Soundgarden are holding a steady and respectable second, and Pearl Jam in there at third spot, but probably due for an overtaking soon.

Next up are two indie darlings, Broken Social Scene, who shouldn't this high, and Modest Mouse who really do deserve to be in the top 5. Memories of years gone by, Tool are currently hanging on at 6, but slowly losing ground as interest in them has dropped, but of course they are still good for a spin every now and then.

Between seventh and ninth spot is a very close call, often overtaking one another are the unusual trio covering pop-rock (Powderfinger), industrial/electronic video game music (Frank Klepacki) and technical death metal (Atheist). And rounding out the 10 are the Custard lads, with their quirky and irreverent indie-pop tunes.

Watch out for these other hot contenders for the top 10:
Clann Zú - more of a recent discovery, but climbing very quickly.
Fagan - a nice mix of light electronics and acoustics, sadly held back by not having that many songs.
Alpha Down - A mysterious entity, but could drop back down the ladder unless some more songs come out.
Violetine - long time favourites, the discovery of more songs has helped bring them closer and closer to the 10. You can probably count on them getting in some time.
The National - they are easily permanent top 10 material in the future, possibly even the top 5 due to their ever-growing popularity around here.

Ok folks, I hope you all have more of a life than I do.
Peace out \/
A town /\
or whatever that guy says

Apocalyptic Raids 12-09-2007 06:30 AM

The National are also getting rather popular around these parts although they are a while away from being top 10. My top 10 has settled down in recent times, now that my last.fm is getting older the tried and tested favourites of the past 18 months are sitting comfortably.

ps. are you going to see The National when they come next year?

blueyxd 12-09-2007 06:53 AM

yeah, I'm really looking forward to them. Have you heard the Cherry Tree EP?

Apocalyptic Raids 12-09-2007 07:00 AM

I haven't. All I've got is the two latest albums.

7 Peter Gabriel 574
8 Boards of Canada 487
9 Nobuo Uematsu 456
10 Damien Rice 381

I think things will remain fairly static for a while, I don't listen to insane amounts of music like a lot of people, and I am listening to a lot of different artists at the moment. Jeff Buckley may overtake Damien Rice, and X-Japan might make a push for the top 10 if I download more of their albums.

Meanwhile Opeth and Radiohead and slowly sinking down the charts, and that makes me happy.
