FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 12:17 PM

I think every bass should have a Badass.

Espbassor 10-03-2004 12:18 PM

Good point, the black is like black black, and not just like a blackened metal right?

FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 12:20 PM

I think so, if I understand you right.

Espbassor 10-03-2004 12:22 PM

'k I just want to make sure it matches up with my hardware. But I may end up replacing everything anyway...dunno yet.

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 12:54 PM

every once in awhile ill just be like "omg i need a conklin" i got another one of those today, either a 7 fretted or a freltess 4 , god i need money.

FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 12:55 PM

I love conklins just not the GTs.

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 12:56 PM

whats wrong with the gt's?

FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 12:59 PM

Bolt-on, 2 band Eq, I've played a alot better and Im not willing to sacrifice just for an extra string. Dont get me wrong they are nic basses but meh. I love all the other Conklins though.

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 01:05 PM

hmm im a fan of bolt ons and i dont have a problem with 2 band eq , so i guess i wont have a problem with this kinda bass. they just look so good.

Jamie 10-03-2004 01:07 PM

^^^^ I agree, yeah funkn, you gotta admit though, they are **** nice basses for the price!

FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 01:09 PM

Thier nice but for $1300 dollar I think you could get a lot nicer bass in my opinion.

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 01:09 PM

fretless 4 is like 700$ and the 7 i was looking at was this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4713&item=3751945980&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW so its worth it

FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 01:12 PM

To each his own. I love the BDGT it's amazing.

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 01:14 PM

send a link , ive only looked at the gts

Foxfire 10-03-2004 01:15 PM

My GT-7 is going to kick the Buddha GT-7's ass when I finish customizing it. I'll admit I don't think it's worth 1300 though, even though I love it to death. :p

What do power conditioners do?

He HAS a 9, but he uses his 7 more.

He uses a 9 occasionally but a 7 is his main bass.

Conklin's #1 Customer
Features: 1
Quality: 2
Value: 4
Overall: 3
Bonker from Medford, OR
Experience: I own it
Background: I invented music
Style of Music: Straight up hip hop
Aug 11, 2004 - I am Conklin's biggest customer and seriously warn anyone who wants to buy it. I have even heard that years ago it was almost recalled because of its ability to spontaneously combust.

this first review is kinda disconcerting

When I get my wiring done on my GT-7, it's going to kill that thing. I'm getting:

Aguilar OBP-3 Preamp
Piezo
Concentric Volume/Volume
Concentric Low-Mid/High-Mid

And if the guy'll do it, custom pickups.

Dude...what kind of idiot says that? He's just being stupid.

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 01:20 PM

id say i would like something liek what you got foxfire , but when it comes to bass technology im really uninformed. whats good about the aguilar. and whats concentric
EDIT: in response to foxes newer post.
meh its still kidna weird , i mean who has a vendetta against conklin?

Foxfire 10-03-2004 01:21 PM

A concentric pot has two knobs in one spot, on top of each other, to save space.

The Aguilar OBP-3 is really versatile and gets a great modern tone; I've heard it in action and I love it. But it's all opinion, I guess.

FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 01:23 PM

I'm such a bitch for neck-thru.

Foxfire 10-03-2004 01:25 PM

Ahh okay.

Well see for me...I mean, I got a GT-7 for 473 USD...I figure I might as well spend the extra 1000 USD I could've spent on a BDGT-7 and make it as good or better, you know? And I can get it piece by piece.

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 01:40 PM

lol you got a gt7 for under 500?

GeezerRULEZ 10-03-2004 01:43 PM

For those of you who have a job, what do you guys do to make (bass) money?

Foxfire 10-03-2004 01:43 PM

Yep.

It's got two holes in the back and it had a faulty strap pin. I fixed it by putting in strap locks (the hole was too large for the other pins, apparently). It also has a crack in part of the finish that's not noticeable unless you're looking for it.

FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 01:47 PM
For those of you who have a job, what do you guys do to make (bass) money?
Don't you mean those who don't have a job.

Jamie 10-03-2004 01:48 PM

Well i just use birthday and christmas, fox has his amazing baby sitting job... (im still jealous of you!)

he gets something like 60 dollars a week!

Foxfire 10-03-2004 01:52 PM

I made an extra 20 last week cuz this little annoying kid who talks to the TV (aka my brother's friend) was over too. Jeez that kid's annoying.

FUNKNBASS 10-03-2004 01:53 PM

At least you got $20 out of it.

e p 10-03-2004 01:53 PM
Don't you mean those who don't have a job.
I think he means your occupation.

Well I don't have a job but will hopefully get one soon. During the summer, I babysat and mowed lawns. Those were very reliable. I still have money from then.

If you want money ask your dad for jobs to do around the house for money, ones that would be harder than normla chores. For example: you ask him and he gives you a job of painting the shed for cash. Worked for me.

In that case I'm a woodworker/carpenter, I get $19,500 a year and Live with my 3 other band mates.

Foxfire 10-03-2004 01:56 PM

Modes question: will different modes start in the same area? Obviously the way the modes are made up is dependant on the scale, but will they start in the same basic area?

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 01:57 PM

did you get your hands on any woods yet that you could use to make a bass out of?

e p 10-03-2004 01:57 PM
In that case I'm a woodworker/carpenter, I get $19,500 a year and Live with my 3 other band mates.
I don't think that's a lot to live off of, but being that I'm not old enough to know, nevermind.

That's good if your only supporting yourself, though.

That must kick ass to live with your band, if you get along that is.

Yar.

Left Shoe 10-03-2004 01:58 PM

to foxfire , if the mdoe is close to the root (ie the scale starts on the 2nd degree or 7th degree) it shudl be close , but i move for the other modes that arent close by
