I want to do a write up on Dragonforce. I know there is already a thread on them, but I dont believe it was ever a write up. Can a mod tell me if this is fine?

You can always do an informative write-up ( remember the series?)
Maybe you can save the write-up for a Featured Artist spot?
But you have to ask Med ( or whoever is responsible for that) for further details.

I tried to do a little research, and Wikipedia doesn't turn up much for anything along the lines of the influence of drugs on rock music. :p So I'd probably have to search a little more. Even if I could find some information, I'm not sure I'd do it. I mean, it could be interesting to read, but I can't picture it sparking any good conversation.

I don't think the topic would create too much of a fuss, though. If you go into the community thread, there's someone talking about marijuana, shrooms or acid every other day.

A LOT of classic rock and Psychedelic rock wouldn't be there if it wasn''t for drugs (esp. LSD), so search a little more, most of the music you know has been atleast somehow influenced by other musicians using drugs.

And about the song recommendations on first post of threads: A while back it was mentioned in here that it should be done, and I did it in one of my threads. I don't think it helped to be honest, we still had people ask for recommendations. But it's not like it annoyed me, not to sure about the other reg's of that thread.

Okay, I know we have a huge rule that we're not aloud any favorite threads, but I remember when we allowed the VS bands thread to go without closing. Everyone has to have a favorite song, so I'm wondering if we can have one thread that everyone can post their one favorite song. Though it will basically be a list thread, I'm just thinking we've never had this before. Just might be something cool to do.

Just an idea though.

If you do that, you might as well make it a favorite song/artist/album/etc list thread, that way you could knock them all out in one.
