No i actually went down from 85 kilos to about 64 kilos, got myself a girlfriend, took a bunch of drugs had my 21st birthday, ran out of money, moved back into my parents place and gained 10 kilos, and im moving to western australia after new years :)

well thats where the gf is from, i have a couple of friends over there, riley is over there (would be cool to meet) and basically theres a bunch of job oppurtuntiys over there that arent here.

Where im living now is the unemployment capital of nsw and just finishing a 3 year art course isnt going to get me a job.

its a change of pace, will force me to be more independant and meet new people.

Sydney is a pretty awful town to move to for music.

Though, that's on a world scale, on a local scale, the littler towns around are probably even worse than Sydney.

I've heard jobs are hard to come by on Planet Zi :p.

We might be getting a distribution deal there, it can't be worse than here. Our manager is adamant if we move there (and it'll only be if it's directly related to music) we'll be able to primarily live off it.

Sounds a bit unrealistic to me unless the distribution deal involves a hefty advance or something, which I don't think they ever do.

Has your manager led any other bands to live off their music in the past?

You guys are a 5 piece band, so to live just off your music you'd need to making as a band, like, at least $2000 a week.

No job in particular, just whatever i can get.

I dont really know hey, all the information i have is that theres alot more jobs over there. Thats a step up from lowest employment area in nsw.

And if nothing really works out, then it'll just be a holiday to meet the gf's family, friends and see some cool **** and chill for a while

Where are you in NSW at the moment? It's true that there isn't much in the way of remotely fancy work around, not that I've seen anyway.

You'll probably pick up some casual work over there pretty easy, you qualified to do bar work and whatnot? That'd be a lock.

Well I'm just going on the attention we're getting from Sydney siders. It could be anywhere, but Sydney and Melbourne are the weapons of choice, it's tough to make money on gigs here.

Having said that the money wouldn't only be gigs.

Even considering merchandise and CDs, it's a very tall order. It's tough to make money on gigs here too, though probably not as tough as where you are now.

I guess if the band was sharing a house and living super economically, maybe you could swing it but I've never met any musician here who lived off an original project alone, let alone an entire band.

Well I never said alone, only primarily :P

aka, as long as I wouldn't need a 40hour a week job I'd be happy.

Well that's different and far more realistic.

A bit of casual work is enough to get by generally.
