last night i watched Listed's top 40 albums of the last twenty years...i was kinda disappointed. right away i figured out some that would be top ten and i was right, although i didnt agree with the order they went in. Smells like Teen Spirit was number one..i was kinda mad, even though i figured it would be top ten.
It says "Classic Albums". I wanted to get the Pompeii DVD but they ran out of them :(
Don't get the Live at Pompeii DVD. It was edited so horribly. The director ruined it. Try to find the original version on VHS. I haven't found it yet, but I'm still looking.

Also how is the DSOTM one? I was thinking about getting that, but didn't know what it was about.

Paranoidd 10-06-2004 11:10 AM

I have the pompeii DVD and I've seen the VHS one a few times, I don't feel that it's ruined.

Stingray man 10-06-2004 11:58 AM

Yeah there definetly has been a revival in classic rock recently. Personaly I'm into just about everything that is rock and metal, from led Zepplin and The Beatles to Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mettalica (especialy their old stuff) and Dream Theatre but NOT Slipknot and Korn.I even like some jazz, reggae and blues stuff

Rock and metal music rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:) Thanks for saving me money.

The DVD, it goes into some detail about the songs, and how they were made. They also play some parts of the songs, Gilmour plays some of the solo for "Time" and a few other songs. Roger also plays some songs such as "Money". I really wish the DVD was a bit longer though :(

It was worth the $10 though :thumb:
Who or what do you think broke up the Beatles, Yoko or different ways?
It's a matter of fact, the Beatles broke up because they were going different places. Even if Yoko wasn't there, they were bound to break up. George had left the group before, he was tired of the McCartney and Lennon (but mostly McCartney at this point) dominance in the group. He had an incredible amount of song, and one or two in an album wasn't enough for him. He only came back to finish 'Let It Be' and 'Abbey Road' was made to make up for the not-so-good album that was 'Let It Be'

It's sad. Without the Beatles there was no way to stop disco.
can someone go tell those people that the swan song is not really a song
Swan Song is the record label that Zeppelin created...

Edit: I'm assuming the people in the Zeppelin thread...
can someone go tell those people that the swan song is not really a song
i had a song on my old computer that was called swan song...it was just like a live cut of page kinda jamming on an acoustic. i dont know if swan song was actually the title or if someone just called it that because it didnt have a name though. it was a good song but i can't find it anymore.

edit- im surprised at how many bands actually signed to swan song records.

MalcolmYoungRock 10-06-2004 04:57 PM

How many?

Too lazy to look.

KISS FAN 10-06-2004 04:59 PM

more like 80's hair metal band.

i'm not sure exactly, but i've noticed many records of mine had the swan song symbol, not just led zep ones.

Woodstock 10-06-2004 05:34 PM

Bad Company was on Swan Song

Woodstock 10-06-2004 05:35 PM

The Beatles were the first to sign James Taylor and Badfinger on their Apple Records, just thought you should know.

MalcolmYoungRock 10-06-2004 05:38 PM

This is interesting..

John Lennon was going to sign to Swan Song during his return to music in the 80's but didn't...

thickasabrick 10-06-2004 05:40 PM
Bad Company was on Swan Song
