congrats man
how do you think they went?
mostly ok i think
i think my worst one was the english shakespeare paper, maybe the science 1 or the non-calculator maths, im not sure, but if i dont get a level 8 in maths my teacher will flay me as will my parents (im in the top 25ish out of 100 in my year at a grammar school - so if i do badly at maths im in trouble probs)
ah well
did my best
and some girl in my class left for new zealand permanently today, but shes not very nice to anyone or hot, so im not really that bothered

jaco jr 05-06-2005 10:45 AM

just out of curiosity, i can read sheet music, but it takes me forever, i think im best off transcribing to tab form to play somnething if its complex, is it worth forcing myself to read the music on powertabs say to improve my speed at this
would you say its important?

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:45 AM

anyway, i'm off, i gotta cook Fajitas :D

might be back later, might not, not that u care
CHECK OUT MY DIRE LEAGUE ENTRY
if i come back i wanna see some flaming responses to it ok?!

I'm doing Philosophy & Ethics, Biology, Economics & Business and Computing (strange combination, I know). I live near Middlesbrough. If you don't know where that is, you probably don't want to.

Don't know, I can't read standard notation anymore, either (could when I played clarinet, stopped playing clarinet, forgot, feel stupid :upset: )
But yeah, it's far better to read standard notation than tab, really.

Rollo47 05-06-2005 11:11 AM

Yeah, force yourself to learn standard notation, you'll regret it if you don't, I think.

jaco jr 05-06-2005 11:20 AM

argh
my powertab has decided not to play anything in the bass score
quite a bugger when your trying to write a bassline for your band's new song

Sure you've set a "Guitar In" at the beginning of the song? And that the dynamic is not an insanely quiet one?

it says the bass is not active under guitar in
and the text is in grey
i cant change anything

jaco jr 05-06-2005 11:34 AM

ok ive solved the problem ive changed the bass setup to a 4 string, but i need to have a 5 string, and i cant just downtune every string cos i use every string in this song

DavetheGrumpy 05-06-2005 11:40 AM

Click on the first note of the song, and click "Guitar In" then tick the box for the Bass you want to use.

"To change the number of tablature lines on a staff, you must click on the "TAB" lettering on the far left side of the tablature staff that you wish to change. The Tablature Staff Type Dialog Box will appear."

There is a help file, you know...

jaco jr 05-06-2005 11:42 AM

ok ive altered the tuning so its a 4 string tuned BEAD, but i do have some really big fret jumps on that high D that if powertab would let me do on a 5 string i could just go up the strings (D and G) but it isnt to be
not to worry

Lol, that's fair enough. Just don't expect anyone to be sympathetic when you don't know how to use the program.

****, that's crappy on a Friday...is it harsh, or did you drop yourself in it?

Pluperfect_Arson 05-06-2005 12:13 PM

Grades. :(

I'd rather be playing music instead of doing school work.

It's not that I have any trouble in the classes, though. Most of the classes are way too easy for me, and a lot of them are review. It's the fact that I hardly turn in any work, but I'm getting better at it. The only class I'm turly passing is music theory, and I completely pwn in that class. :p
