Yes, and I've heard both albums and I still don't like the band. I was just stating that the reason they're popular in the first place is probably because Mikael! was a member for a while.

I was all caught up in the "oh it's Mikael Akerfeldt so it must be great" hype, i guess you could say. But now I think that they are very average, except for the vocals (which are pretty good imo).

Just curious but why dont you like it? To me it seems to have a lot that fans of any sub genre of death metal could enjoy.

i think i prefer bmf but they're both really boring now. as all retro death metal is (including ribspreader, who everyone poops over).

It's just stale, it doesn't really hold my attention.

EDIT: I just listened to Buried By The Dead, which I remembered as being my favourite song by Bloodbath (which isn't saying much). And yeah, they're not bad, but they are bland.

Understandable. I always enjoyed the Ways to the Grave and Cry My Name. Right now Im really into Soul Evisceration at the moment.

edit: I listened to Ribspreader and while its ok stuff, its very lacking. BB is much better

The only song I really dig (I only have RtC however) is "So you die"

i wouldn't talk about it incessantly but they do have one decent song Ways to the Grave. bloodbath is indeed an awful band, and i expected much more from Mikael, and especially Dan Swano.
