for christ sakes it was anounced on april fools day
That's a good point too :p |
Chains 36 (what style of Danny carey do i like more)
i answered the question in long format in a post on the last page except i used the edit button.....wanted to make sure you saw it, are you a drummer by the way? |
I just heard the latest in the onslaught of rumors about the new Tool album. One of them says that it's going to consist of six songs, each twelve minutes long. Anybody know where people get this stuff?

Wishful thinking. |

noooooooooooooooooooooooo i want 6 and 9 minute long songs |
I see your point, but the six twelve minute songs wouldn't exactly leave much room for LK now would they? How could it possibly be wishful thinking without LK included?
|

Don't worry, just a silly rumor. |
There's definitely one 18 minute song; Blair gives away some clues... He mentioned Tool's joke about using their 18 minute song..
|
Having an album of four or five 12-minute songs wouldn't work for Tool, in my opinion. They need to play their cards right on the length of songs. One 18-minute epic will be sweet, but it will get tiring if every song is over ten minutes long. Some bands can pull that off; I'm not sure Tool can.
|
thanks for that song lateralice :thumb:
No problem :) Now go by a Kyuss album :p |
Wishful thinking.
Or they just aim to piss people off.. that was the Paul D'Amor rumor.. that some guy knew him and posted about what Paul said on ToolNavy... Yeah I don't think I believe that rumor. |

Well, Frances The Mute is like that, and THAT album is very mediocre. It's too dependent on ambience that it lacks substance. I think Tool could pull it off. |
No problem :)
Now go by a Kyuss album :p
one step ahead of ya, but the only place that will get em for me is borders book store and they have to order it. |

That would be the oft-mentioned LK. |
Where'd you get LK?
|
Where'd you get LK?
It was in one of Blair's earlier posts on Toolband. He mentioned them playing an eighteen or so minute long song and only gives the abbreviation for it (LK) as he isn't allowed to say the actual title. I'll look up the post if you want. |
Wtf's an LK
A Blair joke... maybe |
Now, now, no need to be hating. I thought it was an excellent album, but it does have to grow on you. Also, what is your avatar of? |
i just ordered welcome to sky valley if i like it ill definetly check out some other stuff from kyuss.
i never heard about the lk thing....it sounds fake |
The dramatic arrangement itself was about eighteen minutes long, and I would have to say, even after having only heard it once (and, more importantly, without the vocals) it was the most impressive piece I’ve heard them do. I could only imagine what it was going to sound like with Maynard’s vocals, which he was working on from the other side of the glass. I asked what the working title of this organized pandemonium was and Justin told me. Even though the name could and probably would change when Maynard was finished with the lyrics, I’m not at liberty to reveal the working title (in case it sticks), only to say that the initials are L.K. When they finished the song there was dead silence in the room. Adam then glanced at me and said that it (meaning the arrangement) wasn’t quite finished yet. “NO – it IS!” I told him, just messing with him, knowing that he is the consummate perfectionist. “That’s the new single” I joked, after guessing how many minutes long it was (after all, it might have only been fifteen minutes). “Well, my part isn’t finished” he said. Adam then asked me if I’d heard the song that I missed while I was out eating lunch. I told him that I had a couple of times, but that was a few weeks ago. He said that they would play it again because they f**ked it up the first time. Before they began, Justin walked over to the mixing console and began picking through the bowl containing the colorful assortment of newfangled jelly beans, searching for quite a while for a particular color/flavor. Adam also hunted for a certain color – a golden-yellowish one that he wanted me to try, claiming it tasted like buttered popcorn. When the heathen near-vegan declined, he popped it in his mouth and subconsciously began f**king around with a chthonic riff on his silver burst.
Taken from the entry on December 14, 2004. There you have it. |
Meh knowing Tool it could change..
|
news letters like that one are the good ones, I miss em. Its cool of he jsut describes what adys are like at the tool house.
Blair also mnetioned on a more recent post that the album would be a chromatic monster or that asong was a chromatic monster, dont remeber that well. |
Yes, he mentioned 'chromatic tortures' (or something to that effect) in that article as well. I don't remember exactly what he was refering to, however.
|
That's odd. I have to say, my anticipation of the new album is starting to rise greatly.
God dammit, now I'm really getting mad. My Lateralus disc is no where to be found. |
I feel your pain Kage, on both ends. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have the divine harmonies of Lateralus to guide me through existance....
|
i hope it comes out before the winter.
