and

But, I'm still looking forward to it.
CTE and Youth wern't that bad, they just wern't thrash. I still have high hopes for this album, it's gonna be awsome

heavy metal kid 07-17-2006 11:20 PM

Rust in Peace was mainstream also so i wouldn't mind that, but if he says something after CTE, then albums like Risk and the World Needs a Hero are included.

Bazarov 07-17-2006 11:34 PM
That's because Megadeth are better than Metallica and Slayer combined...X100
FIGHT ME!

I want to see Megadeth again... really really badly.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-18-2006 12:05 AM

Rust In Peace wasn't mainstream.

Oh damn thats bad then, BTW RIP isn't mainstream

Lord Abortion 07-18-2006 04:25 AM

I like Countdown and Youthanasia better than any of the thrash stuff, anyhow.

Chu 07-18-2006 04:34 AM

Yeah, but you said if you were gay you'd go for James LaBrie so your opinion is void :p

Jokes, but seriously, I don't know why you'd choose LaBrie over Myung, or even Petrucci.

Lord Abortion 07-18-2006 04:39 AM

Labrie has more lovely hair.

Chu 07-18-2006 04:50 AM

So it's all about the hair for you? You should see my hair :naughty:

Mother 07-18-2006 05:29 AM

The new album is goona be called United Abominations.

sry if this is old.

I'm not saying CTE or Youth were bad, but he said after CTE. Risk was after CTE, so that's a pretty broad range.

victim of changes 07-18-2006 10:17 AM

lol risk was the first megadeth album i bought suprised that i like em as much as i do, being introduced with them by Risk and all.

Yeh I guess we'll have to wait and see
Rust In Peace wasn't mainstream.
Well, Holy Wars got big air time on radio and Mtv, that and the album's platinum award made me think it was somehow Mainstream.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-19-2006 01:32 AM

New album sounds promising, but I'm not going to dwell to much on the comments that it sounds old school. Especially since I remember Mustaine saying he was not a 28 year old writing Rust In Peace riffs anymore.

I like how they're recording with analog, too.

FatalEnergy 07-19-2006 10:02 AM

So do I.
Analog has balls. Ditigal production does nothing for me.

Hey, Dream Theater's Pull Me Under was on MTV a hell of a lot.

I wouldn't call that mainstream.

FatalEnergy 07-19-2006 04:57 PM

I've seen Elimination by Overkill on MTV too, so that dosen't really mean anything.

heavy metal kid 07-19-2006 05:17 PM

If it wasn't for that air time that RIP got on MTV and radio i'll bet CTE wouldn't be as mainstream as it is really. Hell, Dave Mustaine talks about something similar on the remastered version of the album.

It was like ...And Justice for all, the last step to world domination :p .

Lord Abortion 07-20-2006 03:15 AM

CTE, mainstream?

How so?

eug008 07-20-2006 05:57 AM

Yeh it is mainstream compared to their previous albums

metallicaman8 07-20-2006 10:21 AM

I've been getting more and more into Megadeth lately. I still prefer Metallica, but I find it is a very, very close battle. Dave Mustaine is difinitely a very talented individual, although I find I have a general dislike for his personality.

heavy metal kid 07-20-2006 11:31 AM
CTE, mainstream?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but CTE was an instant hit: multi-platinum album, maximum position of 2 on the billboard charts, one grammy nomination(RIP got 2), and at least Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets and Countdown to Extincion are still part of the daily playlist of my local radio station.

Not to mention that many of the Megadeth fans got hooked with some song of CTE.

To metallicaman8: Megadeth and Metallica are great bands, very different. Musically Megadeth is better, but Metallica has many pros that Megadeth don't have(Orion is a good example).

His personality's down to the way he was brought up, he was a drug dealer at a young age and had to live with his Aunt who abused him mentally.

Lord Abortion 07-20-2006 04:11 PM

Heavy Metal Kid: why the hell don't I have a local radio station like yours?!
His personality's down to the way he was brought up, he was a drug dealer at a young age and had to live with his Aunt who abused him mentally.
I'm aware of that and it is unfortunate, but it doesn't change the fact that I don't like him....accept for his musical ability of course.

Because British radio is blind to good music.
Because British radio is blind to good music.
Mexican radio isnt that great either. Maybe its just my location but I only get 80's pop and one hit wonders. Although at night there is a only rock/metal show where I get some Maiden and Sabbath.

heavy metal kid 07-21-2006 11:24 AM

My radio station is actually from San Diego(Rock 1053), but the stream reaches Tijuana.
