I find myself rarely watching TV regularly anymore.

kurrpt 01-17-2006 07:30 AM

That Lost show is, in fact, worse then most soap operas on TV.

At least you get some closure at the end of Days of Our Lives. I'd also have to say that the plot twists are a little more believeable

Apocalyptic Raids 01-17-2006 07:31 AM

I never watch regularly anymore either.

I will probably start watching Lost and 24 when they come back on though.

ThrashMaster27 01-17-2006 07:37 AM

Pfft, Jon.

You love 24. All the "Gotta go, 24 awaits" messages I've had from you.

heh.

You're just jealous I like 24 more than talking to you.

;)

superpeer 01-17-2006 07:47 AM

I don't watch Lost or 24 either. Nor do I watch TV much, sometimes I'll watch the Simpsons or some British comedy though.

Amit 01-17-2006 07:50 AM

There are a lot of shows I like but I just don't have the patience to sit down and watch them :-(

once i got TiVo, i really havent watched normal programming again.

My practice routine never gives me a chance to catch up on the recorded programs. My girl watches enough TV for the both of us as it is

Apocalyptic Raids 01-17-2006 07:52 AM

Half the shows I want to watch I always forget anyway.

I've missed nearly all the new South Park episodes, and the ones I saw were pretty average.

Well, I have that too, there are many things that I might wanna watch, but then I'm on mx or wherever and I forget about it and only notice it when it's over.
I've missed nearly all the new South Park episodes, and the ones I saw were pretty average.
The newest Simpsons are also really unfunny.

kurrpt 01-17-2006 08:30 AM

i had the newest full season of South Park on my IPOD...

i accidentally cleared it trying to back it up, and I hadn't even seen one of em on there.

O well

ThrashMaster27 01-17-2006 08:32 AM
The newest Simpsons are also really unfunny.
I agree.

They made Homer far too stupid. I still watch it, regardless. The Simpsons will always be something that everyone watches however stale the writing gets.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-17-2006 08:33 AM

I also agree about the new Simpsons.

They suck big time.

Riva 01-17-2006 08:36 AM

Simpsons need to be put out to pasture before everyone starts to dislike them.

Go out gracefully, I say.

And as I say that, I go to bed.

Steerpike 01-17-2006 08:37 AM

It's a shame to see that happen to a show really. I agree it's best to just put it out of its misery.

NP: Primal Fear - Colony 13

Apocalyptic Raids 01-17-2006 08:37 AM

Goodnight.

I still enjoy the old classics, but yeah, they should put it to rest.

Yeah, homer is too much the focal point in all the episodes, he has definitely been the funniest character along the years, but now it's just Homer. And I agree, he's just all stupid now, whereas he used to be normal and then it would build up to him doing something stupid/funny. Now they just left out the building up part and try to make him funny all the time, but it just fails.

I still watch it too, when it's on, the yellow is just soothing to the eyes, but it's still a shame, a shame. :upset:

kurrpt 01-17-2006 08:41 AM

i stopped watching simpons 6 years ago.

i have seen an episode or 2 sporadically, but nothing in any kind of chronological order.

As far as putting the show out to pasture goes, there are far WORSE shows mentioned in the last 2 pages here alone

Apocalyptic Raids 01-17-2006 08:44 AM

Like Joey. Ugh.

kurrpt 01-17-2006 08:46 AM
Like Joey. Ugh.
can't say i've ever like friends either, but YES, exactly

Cain 01-17-2006 09:39 AM

I hate TV, period. The only thing I ever watch now are movies off my cable channels or on DVD or something like that.

Star Trek: the Next Generation was actually the only TV show I ever followed. Whatever extremes "Trekkies" go to in displaying their fandom, you've got to admit that that was one intelligent, well-made and well-acted show.

kurrpt 01-17-2006 09:44 AM

my dad was a huge fan of the BORG mini series on that bitch.

I couldnt really identify with any particular character, and there was no real hot chicks on the show.

The ship looks real good, and some of the special effects were real good for the time

Yeah, the idea was less objectification of women, to live up to the series' standards for a more equal 24th century. You might compare it to that terrible original series, in which every girl was wrapped in gauze go-go suits. Such a product of the '60s.

That all changed when Jeri Ryan's boobs joined "Star Trek: Voyager." Then the Vulcan woman on "Star Trek: Enterprise" was on the cover of Maxim, and the whole series went to hell.

kurrpt 01-17-2006 09:59 AM

yea, but that borg woman was hot as hell...

i guarentee 20% of the watching audience of that spin off were only tuning in for both of her lumps, and not for the poor plots

Bit more than 20% i'd say.

kurrpt 01-17-2006 10:05 AM
Bit more than 20% i'd say.
yea, i was gonna say 97%, but i wanted to pick an arbitrary number

Amit 01-17-2006 11:03 AM
Well, I have that too, there are many things that I might wanna watch, but then I'm on mx or wherever and I forget about it and only notice it when it's over.
Heh, well the thing is that I can download any and every major TV series out there in a very short period of time thanks to the existence of a private university DC++ hub...But I still don't watch anything
