If I had to pick between them, I'd pick Powerwolf.
|
yeah my first thought was a more bombastic Sabaton, or certainly flamboyant
|
Although they don't have a song as good as Primo Victoria.
THROUGH THE GATES OF HELL AS WE MAKE OUR WAY TO HEAVEN THROUGH THE NAZI LINES PRIMO VICTORIA! |
Well they're okay from what I've heard, and it's been forever, but they're so plain and uninteresting.
Yet you think Arghoslent is good... bahahhahaha |
excellent comeback
|
Yeah, Primo Victoria's such a good song.
I don't like the vocals, for one thing. I like Harry on the later stuff, but not on that album. And I just like being contrary.
Yeah I remember you saying you didn't like the vocals. This only confuses me more as Harry's vocal performance on that album is godly. |
I really like Thane To The Throne, though it suffers from the Achille's heel of a lot of power metal in being stuck consistently at midtempo.
Haven't heard too much else though, remember not being taken by Ample Destruction, but I might give it another go. |
remember not being taken by Ample Destruction
You have just lost all your metal cred with that comment :( re-listen to Ample Destruction right now. It will not dissapoint. If it does, you may crush me with your biceps ov glory. |
stuck consistently at midtempo.
exactly why i dont like jag panzer and similar groups |
a lot of bands really need to get that memo tbh
|
Listening to the riffs and solos of Nubian Archer and I wonder why I get ripped on for liking power metal. Jag Panzer even sounds similar to them (albeit way more proficient). Hypocrite Cocaine.
|
you're kind of an idiot
|
userword, why are you talking about jag panzer when you could be listening to NWOBHM
|
I've heard that enough I don't think you needed to say it. Either that or think of something else.
*Yeah I liked that NWOBH song you posted. I mean Blind Guardian seemed to take a chunk of their initial style from that song. They even covered it. |
On the topic of NWOBHM, has anyone else got the Metal For Muthas comps? The first one is awesome but the second one just didn't seem quite as good on its first listen.
|
so i got Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond, Lost Horizon - Awakening the World, and Fairyland - Of Wars in Osyrhia and i'm falling back in love with power metal
recs plz |
Virgin Steele - Marriage of Heaven and Hell part 1

|
if you like those you should try out LARPing
|
im fine with normal D&D
i mean uhhhh what |
d&d is for sissies who like to make believe
LARPing is for real men who actually LIVE the dream |
so i got Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond, Lost Horizon - Awakening the World, and Fairyland - Of Wars in Osyrhia and i'm falling back in love with power metal

get the hell outta here bucko, i listened to two out of those three bands when i was 14 years old and simply got out of power metal and now i'm getting into it again
|
Sure...Good story bro. None of those bands want you and your hipsterness. Go back to Weezer, rap, Lady Gaga and whatever flavor of the week bands you find. \\

You just don't understand... it's ok though at least you respect some good Power Metal unlike most hipsters.
|
you just don't understand
