erotomania's alright :smoke: i prefer other instrumentals, overture 1928 being my favorite.

honor thy father...?
dude, choose a better song to play :]

i dont think my grandparents would like it if i brought home an elec. with an amp, so ill see if i can rent out a cheap acoustic...work on my acoustic skills a bit.

Ah man, Erotomania was the first DT song I ever heard. It was unlike anything I ever heard before. I remember I listened to the ending of that song over and over again.:thumb:

Hells Kitchen and Erotomania are my favorite DT instrumentals. I hope theres another true instrumental on the next album.:thumb:

EDIT-Holy crap, how did I forget Dance of Eternity. That is my favorite instrumental.

Lord Abortion 07-09-2006 04:45 AM

I like the ones on SFAM the best

ever eeking always rupert 07-10-2006 01:05 AM

Woo I just got SFNY. It's fantastic!

eug008 07-10-2006 01:11 AM

It's got some good material on it but I don't like the way it's presented (Split screens, story etc.)

Lionheart1827 07-10-2006 01:13 AM
Woo I just got SFNY. It's fantastic!
Yeah its amazing.

It gets better everytime you listen to it. You notice little things along the way.:thumb:

ghettoeddo 07-10-2006 05:49 AM

erotomania....the solo in it sounds like a classical piece i can't quite put my finger on...

jpshortstuff 07-12-2006 04:05 AM

got Live Scenes from new york DVD last week :amaze:
productions a bit weird but damn good stuff.

Lord Abortion 07-12-2006 04:34 AM

Yeah, I have the CD&DVD for that and Budokan...they're fantastic

Tyr 07-12-2006 04:39 AM

Personally I like Budokan better, but that is probably because I saw that before LSfNY.

jpshortstuff 07-12-2006 04:39 AM

to hear all of SFAM played live and then all of ACOS would have blown me away. i hope they play loadsa songs from sfam when i see them.

inassociationwithdeanlearner 07-12-2006 04:52 AM

Nah i think it is better, i saw it before lsfny and i still prefer it.

budokan version of beyond this life > lsfny version
plus they do a better variety of songs on budokan

Tyr 07-12-2006 04:59 AM

That's definitely true, the variety is so much better on Budokan. I watched the whole DVD again the other week, and damn, it's good!

Jev 07-12-2006 05:13 AM

After watching Budokan too much, I now prefer LSFNY.

GenuineImitation 07-12-2006 08:54 AM

I have LSFNY, Budokon, SFaM and When Dream and Day Reunite, Once in a Livetime and Live at the Marquis. Im going to get Scores when it comes out (hopefully my poster will be on it).

I didnt realize I had all the DT DVD's

NP: DT - A fortune in Lies

Adam Jones is GOD 07-12-2006 10:01 AM

I've just finished watching the double DVD, now I get to watch it again with the commentary :)
Its annoying there's no commentary on the Budokan one, or any for Score though. :(

MRDuCran 07-12-2006 10:06 AM

Any of you guys seen Mike's Liquid Drum Theater video where he shows you how to play, and count out the Dance of Eternity??

Fukkin' insane!!

inassociationwithdeanlearner 07-12-2006 11:17 AM

Is it just me or have you found that the DT dvd's tend to be very expensive most places?:(

Although i dont care anymore cus i have em all and got em quite cheap as well.

Jev 07-12-2006 12:39 PM

Pretty much everything DT is expensive round here, as I've mentioned before.

Lord Abortion 07-12-2006 12:54 PM

You should be able to get studio albums for £6.97 at Music Zone, or for about £4 on the internet.

Jev 07-12-2006 01:02 PM

Never seen a music zone mr northerner.

Lord Abortion 07-12-2006 01:04 PM

Hahah, well, you suck.

Inkstar 07-12-2006 06:28 PM

Lately I've REALLY been stuck into ToT. SoC and ItnoG are quickly becoming favourite DT songs. I've listened to this album alot, and I've had it for ages, but lately these two songs are just making me orgasm over and over. I absolutely LOVE the ending of both songs. Both are so emotional and I feel like I almost want to cry when I listen to them.

But you definitely have to listen to the whole of both songs to really feel the power of the endings. Maybe I'm going over-the-top with the crying thing... but damn these songs grow on you.

I really love ItNofG and SoC too. Plus As I Am has always been a fave of mine. Great riffs and awesome drumming. If I have a good tone, I'd record those.
Any of you guys seen Mike's Liquid Drum Theater video where he shows you how to play, and count out the Dance of Eternity??
Anyone??

Also there's a tonne of Mikey videos on youtube if him playing through loads, if not all of Train of Thought and other stuff too.

That drum solo he does where he goes down to the crown holding that single tom is pretty sick.

It was the same as it is on the album, except it was backed by a full orchestra(I was there :thumb: ).

There weren't any extra parts to the song if thats what you were thinkin. It was amazing though, but Metropolis Part 1 with full orchestra was one of the most incredible things EVER.:thumb:

Inkstar 07-12-2006 09:10 PM

*Can't wait for this DVD*

Seriously. I havn't been this excited in a LONG time.

Haha, look at the comments...
Blabbermouth is filled with imbecile metalheads that cleary cannot enjoy the beautiful arrangements nor the complexity of DT's songs.
